Same old question...VSD and...
Two questions actually, using 1024x768 resolution on my monitor that has th same resolution does not show the web page in VSD maximixed so i cant center is something I can do to help with this maybe a trick. No rulers on VSD which would help alot.
Also...does VSD support percentage based resolution settings. Keep reading alot about that but im new to all this. If sonmeone uses a laptop im sure the website will be far too large...suggestions?

Bruce,
Did you set the VSD settings to 1024x768?
Did you click on the centered box?
Have you uploaded and checked with your computer?
If your computer monitor has a resolution of 1024x768, and the site looks good, I would not worry about someone using a Windows 98 laptop. I have checked the resolution of the visitors to my sites, and very few are under 1024x768. Even my OLD laptop has a 1024x768 resolution.

Bruce,
Somewhere, I read that people do not like to scroll from side to side. I don't know if that is generally true or not, but many mice now have a vertical scroll wheel that makes vertical scrolling easy.
Once you get your site running, and have had a few visitors, check the resolution settings of the visitors and you can see if you prefer to set for a larger screen of maybe you will see some show up with 640X480, which would have horrid colors.

BillR,
I think the general concensus (sp?) is that vertical scrolling is best. But, if you are looking to do a horizontal scroll site it is important to not make the viewer do both. I've seen several nicely done horizontal sites, but prefer vertical myself.

Phil,
I have also seen horizontal scrolling sites. They looked nice, but I didn't care for it.
Maybe if more people made horizontal scrolling sites, we would grow accustomed to them and it would not seem "wrong" in our opinions.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
