Quality Pictures become Pixelated...
I have some images that are NOT pixelated until I upload them on VSD then they are.
For example see these

What causes this and how can I fix it?
Thanks

VSD is not using the original image. Did you add the image using the image tool or copy it from another page?
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Jennifer, What size was the original image in px.
I see other images that are down graded as well.

I checked on my end and the links do work.
VSD should be using the original image. The pictures I am using came straight from my camera disk. I inserted them using the VSD image insert button at the left.
When I open the picture on my computer to see the size it says 1.8 - 2.0 MB depending on which one we are referring to.

Did you re-size the image when you inserted it or is it the original size? What's the dimensions of the original in px?

Jennifer, you'll get better results if you open your photos in an image editing program to size and optimize them for the web. VSD isn't made for image editing and a 2MB image is a lot to deal with
Start with your pic in something like Photoshop. Make a copy of the original and change the size to whatever it needs to be to fit in the webpage, then use the Save for Web function to optimize your image (smallest file size without becoming pixelated). Your images should be at 72dpi and way under even 1MB (under 50kb would be reasonable for most images).

Thank you : ) Let me try that and I will report back for others.
Excellent advice! I just tried it on one and it looks great : )
Thanks everyone and thank you paintbrush for the instructions on how to resize.
