Putting the same thing on every page...
Hi,
I have searched the Forums and apologise if this has already been asked. I couldn't find anything but would be amazed if it hasn't been brought up.
Anyway, my question is, I would like to make a very small change to each page on my site. This change will be adding one word in exactly the same place on every page. I have TONS of pages so am wondering if there is a simple way, maybe just a button!, that I can tell VSD that every page needs this word.
Or is my answer to go into every page individually and add it that way?
Thanks for your help,
J

I'm not sure if this is your answer, but can you not do the find/replace option to add the word?
I may be barking up the wrong tree, but that is often a good, but very much forgotten option.
It may be you have to go into Notepad or Dreamweaver to use it though?

Can I ask if CC have addressed this issue since this post over 3 years ago?
I have a website with lots of pages (30+) and one of the buttons says 'Speaking and Media'. I wish to change that button to 'Media Kit'.
Is there a way to change the text in this button (on the index page) and ask VSD to copy that action across every web page on the website?
To clarify, I want to amend the text in a button, and have that change occur over the 30+ web pages that make up the website.
This must be easy for software engineers to incorporate, so i feel like I'm missing a box somewhere to select 'copy over all pages' etc. It would be hard to believe that if any of us make a mistake that later needs rectifying, that we have to individually change each and every page manually, when the change is identical on each page!
Thanks for your time, and hope there's a solution.

There is no such option, it was an intentional simplification i believe in VSD build, the option you want sounds simple, logical, even practical, but i believe would have meant a totally different structure which would not have worked well for WYSIWYG
Edit text on the button, copy the button, then go to one page at a time and delete the buton, followed by pasting in the replacement.
If you have numerous identical changes to all pages hold down the shift key and select all the changes together
then do the same to select them all and delete them all and paste them all to the other 29 pages.
Sorry long winded, i have had to do it numerous times, does not take as long as it sounds, about 20 seconds per page !

I agree to everyone here haha. Half of me loathes to go through every page for one button, but once i copy the page I just park my hand on Control + V and just flip through the pages and at least it pastes it into the correct spot ( granted it visible in your window, otherwise you have to scroll down too ) Once I figured that out I made base pages to use as a "duplicate page" option to make it a bit easier

If you use a .jpeg image for a navigation button on a page, the only way in VSD to change all of the buttons is page by page. However as Viv said once you create the first new button copy and paste it to the remaining pages.
I like CC's Flash Menu designer. If one button needs changed all you need to do is open the program, make the change and publish. Every page is updated with the new menu.
If your building a page that you know the content will change from time to time, you can use an iframe or a include.js to get this done.
