"publish" goes through every...
I can publish my website and then make a few changes and re-publish and both times VSD will go through every image. Is this normal? It really takes a long time.
pop up box shows: currently processing: IMG_xxx.jpg
VSD starts with the first image and processes all the way through to the last image. I understand that VSD has to check each page for changes but why does it have to process every image?
Do you think in the future it will be possible to publish pages versus the whole site?
Thanks,
yeto

Hi Yeto,
I'm hoping that someone will answer your question, as I have the same problem. The larger my site becomes, the longer it takes to keep republishing everything. I plan on adding alot more content so I can only imagine the time it will take to complete this task. Can anyone please answer this question for both Yeto and myself?

VSD has to compare your files with the ones on the server so it knows which ones have changed. It only actually publishes the changed ones. As much as some users would like the ability to decide what to publish, I don't think CC will implement this ability into the software any time soon. I would think it would cause more support questions if they did because a user has a broken site just because they overlooked a file they needed to up load. You can use an external ftp client to publish your site if you wish. I'll do this when I'm on a slow connection and want to test how it looks on the actual server. I then do an actual publish through VSD when I'm back on a fast connection.

I can't hear what I'm looking at.

I have about 40 pages on my main VSD website, if i make a few small edits it will take about 5 minutes to upload.
HOWEVER, if you do something LIKE resave the website under a new name, and then upload it will take about 3/4 of an hour
So i guess time taken is determined by the type of edit
if for instance you move 1 button but you move that 1 button on all 40 pages that could take 1/2 hour
Its advisable to get your structure right so that your editing is minimal
