Problem with ftp need help asap -...

the connection seems fine but everytime it gets to the page enter itstops. then says an error occured after five minutes. I tried on 2 lap tops in the same house didnt work. Then i went to ma friends house and it worked on the same laptop that didnt work at my house. whats the problem?? and how do i fix it??

Firewall issue? Did your router/dsl modem come with a firewall activated without you knowing it? Or did you maybe activate it?

Or virus protection stops mine. I just need to pause it whilst I upload.
I know you believe you understand what you think I said...but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not exactly what I meant.

Mike have you added any new programs lately that may be causing a conflict?

I'd try switching off your virus protection first and see if that helps. Will be so much easier if that is the issue rather than trying to track down other possible causes.

The laptop can upload the website at my friends house(ethernet cord) somehow it just slows then says error at my house

At your house, when you are attempting to upload, are you doing so via WiFi or Ethernet?

Not sure if you got this working but the usual workaround is to get a good FTP program like Filezilla and upload the HTML files along with the images in the FILE folder directly.

Thought I would mention it just in case. :)
