Problem with background - Post ID 99053

I just upgraded to VSD 6.06. I noticed when I uploaded changes to my site the background had changed. When I used to open my site from different computers, my background kept going, no matter what size the screen or resolution was set to where I was viewing from. Now, when I open my site, the background is just my actual page size and then it turns white. Is there any way I can make my background go back to the way it was, where it continued across the screen. It looked so much better. My site is www.starsminiatures.com
Thanks A Bunch,
Allison

I don't know if this has anything to do with your background not repeating like you want it too, but if you look at the top right corner you'll see a couple things that look like this:

"> ">

that shouldn't be there, looks like HTML added that needs to be adjusted?

I would also check to see how to get it to center, and then change the entire background to the background image rather than just the area being used. I'm sure there's a way to do that, and if you haven't gotten it figured out in a while I'll fire it up and see if I can help test where to do that. I don't use VSD but it can't be all that hard to find the settings :)

HI Allison,
First thing I would do is go to settings-then to standard settings for new pages-then look to the lower left where it says"Load Existing Page Settings" and in the drop down look for your homepage. And in the upper right side where the page size is located look to see if there is a check mark in the little box where it says "centered" if not put one there by selecting it. Now back to the lower left choose "apply to all pages" and then after that select save. That should center your pages.

For the background I would again go to settings and look for "background fill properties" click it and choose the selection of "continue the background fill beyond the border" see if that helps there.

The meta tags I don't know whether they werescrambled during the upgrade or not but they are none the less. I would suggest removing them and re-adding them by going to edit- then edit keywords and description
yeah i know alot to fix.

THANK YOU for explaining it in ENGLISH for a self taught person who has a blast doing her own site, but sometimes gets afraid to explore what some of the options do!!! It worked perfectly!:D
