When I upgraded to VSD7, it uninstalled 6 but left the original VSD6 folder there with the subfolder Themes with My Themes.

Do I need to move this to the VSD7 folder? So I don't have so many folders labeld "Visual Site Designer" and VSD knows where to find my themes?

At the present time there is no folder in VSD for themes.

I just found Scotts post from another thread:

All the themes have been updated to a new theme package format. You need to use Visual Site Designer 7 and install the theme through the File Menu.

I think that answers my question. I need to "load them" into 7 as they are a different format than 6.

All of the above or below, upgraded smoothly made a few changes than went to preview and got stuck in a loop of relinking files and trying to preview. Ran out of time today so back at it Mon.....Neal

I upgraded to version 7 and wish I hadn't. Feel like I'm having a stroke here. I can't even open the help file in V7 for some reason. My complaints so far....

The new version didn't pick up my previous website account configuration which I find confusing in the first place but I think I've got them figured out now.

Some files can't be found when I try to upload... Where is the re-sync feature which I believe was used in the previous version? How do I get these now "un-found" files back up there when "Publish" simply doesn't seem to work?

Where is the help file? Why can't I open it?

I think I'm going to delete this new version and go back to V6 although I'll probably have some issues doing that too.

F**k, I hate upgrading.

S dering,
first there should be a zipped up copy of your website, made automatically when you upgraded, and opened your website, so you SHOULD not have lost anything.

Second, I think the best bit of advice would be to uninstall and download again the program, preferably not wireless, but with an etthernet cable (just incase)

Thank you Jewelcraft - I may have to resort to that. I'm waiting for some tech support first and just walked away from everything this morning.

Scott,

I'm having the "lost links" problem too. I've tried re-linking all of the buttons, loading V7 on a different PC, with a different O/S, and even coping the .PDF's to the web server manually, but no joy. Links to other file types (jpg & HTML) work, but I can’t link to any .PDF’s. Any ideas?

If you are having problems with VSD in anyway, I have a beta version I would like to send to a few people to test if these issues reported here are fixed. Please e-mail me at scott@coffeecup.com if you are interested.
