Well to specify all the files would need to be added into VSD in order to preview, so using the flash tool is the correct way as it automatically adds all the nessesary files for your project. I noticed you mentioned most of the files for Flash Menu Builder, Is the button used also there, or am I misunderstanding and it's all flash objects not showing.

Yes, the button image file is in the same folder as the 3 files I listed above (sorry, forgot to mention that file). I see the "image" placed in VSD after using the flash tool (that blank preview box). When I click to preview it (using both the IE browser and the VSD browser), the webpage displays but there is no box or Form Object or any indication of the menu showing on the preview. Even when I hold my cursor over where the menu should be, the cursor shows no indication of anything there. Again, the part that is perplexing is that this phenomenon only occurs on 2 of 3 computers that I've used.

Oh, and it is only the flash menus that are not showing. The other flash pieces, such as form builder and photo gallery are displaying just fine.

Could you try removing the menu files using the "remove files" and save it, only this time instead of using the flash tool, could you manually add the code to the page and use the "add files" to add all the necessary files, sense you know what they are. long way around isn't it. sorry. just want to see if it would make a difference.

This confuses me a bit, as initially I was wondering if you had javascript disabled in your browser which might prevent some of the flash content from working correctly, particularly if you are using IE.

How about installing another couple of browsers (FF, Opera, Chrome, Safari as preferences) to see how everything behaves in those. But do make sure you have javascript enabled.

Am noticing the following: after clicking on preview in VSD, goes to IE8 and page is displayed without the menu. The status bar at the bottom says "1 item remaining waiting for file //C:/documents and settings/Karen/Local Settings/Temp/vsd_tmpdir/index.html...". When I look for the directory, I can get this far "C:/documents and settings/Karen" but there is no "local settings" folder.... Does that have something to do with it?

there is not supposed to be the smiley face, there. it is supposed to read "file : / / / C:/documents and settings/Karen/Local Settings/Temp/vsd_tmpdir/index.html..."

oops, now I see that system files were hidden, it is there after changing the folder options.

The directory is there with the index.html file and the menu files. However, it still doesn't preview. maybe a wild goose chase.

support just solved it by explaining that I needed to remove the files from within VSD since the referencing link somehow got disconnected. Thanks, Bruzer, you were close with the remove files. I had no idea that it removed the files only locally. I thought it would remove files on the server for the live site - which since that has been working was not a fun idea... But, thank you to all of you for your help. Life is much better, now!
