Hi all-
I am having a problem with my Power Point to show correctly.
After it was created and saved as a show, on the page I added it as a Link to a Document, and copied it from the desktop. Saved and uploaded the site, but when I clicked on the PPS link it opened up the editing program of the Power Point on my desktop. Then I linked it to the Download files folder of CC VSD of the site, upload, and now it shows a set of file folders.
Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Can I add the .ppsx file as a flash file?
Here's the page, the link is under the menu bars as School Power Point Presentation:

I tried your link and firefox asked me if I wanted to open or download it. I immediately closed it out. i don't know if it works but I would really, really have to trust a site before I downloaded a file set like that. Is there any other way to show what you have other than power point?

The unfortunate news is that the way a browser opens links to PPT or PPS or the newer PowerPoint 2007 PPTX/PPSX and other files depends on local user settings and/or settings on the web server. It's not necessarily something you as the web page/presentation author can control.
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!
Tim it does work but it relies on the user having Power Point installed on their machine.
There are a couple of options. There is a program called Presenter that will convert the Power Point file to an audio visual presentation that you can upload and it will be a stand alone presentation that anyone can access. I think there is also an Open Office version of Presenter.
The other option is to put your slides into a slide-show or gallery which you could do with CC programs.
There are probably other options too but they sprang quickly to mind.

I know you believe you understand what you think I said...but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not exactly what I meant.

Tom M -good thought, downloading any file is a risk now days
Tom -thanks, informative article
tassietiger -thanks, I might try that route
David- can't find any "Save as web page" options on my Power Point. Save as XPS, .pdf, a show or presentation are the only options found.

2007 is
Office button > Save As (in Save As dialog, choose Web Page from Save As Type drop-down)
