Several of our customers who use Google Chrome can't open the .pdf's on our site since we switched to the new version. pdf's open fine in IE. Pdf's open fine with Google Chrome on our old site that hasn't been updated to new version of VSD.

www.dancefestinc.com (in new version of VSD - problems in Google Chrome)

www.dancecampjot.com (old version of VSD and all .pdf's open fine with all interent browsers)

Are these sites both on the same host?

I don't think this is a problem with VSD, but with the Chrome PDF Viewer. I found an article here that explains a few things:

It could be that the PDF's that are not working include features that the Chrome browser cannot read. A good way to test this is to upload a PDF that works on dancecampjot.com to dancefestinc.com and see if it works.

I can't see how this would be a VSD issue. It's just a link, right? Nothing special about that.

I can't imagine the average visitor to Ann's site messing about with the pdf plugin. Better to put up a warning about not using Chrome, me thinks...

That is odd, but I'd imagine people who use Chrome already know about the plugin.

It seems that Chrome doesn't like embedded PDFs either. They just display as a grey rectangle :(
In Googling for an answer/solution I didn't find anything at all about plug-ins. So thanks very much, Scott for the links! :D

I don't know about that - I gave up on Chrome when I couldn't find a way to email a link from within the browser. I'm sure there are many more mysteries never to be revealed by clicking through all the menu bar options.

I have a simular issue with pdf files.....just discovered since upgrading VSD.
I can't link to a pdf file on my website anymore...used to work fine.
The link defaults to vsd_tmpdir/ when viewed with IE
The link just reloads the page with the pdf link on it when I use Safari and Fire Fox browsers.
Any idea what is going on.
Also, when linking to a document, the radio button works to select the link to document option and the browse button works to find the document, but the status bar that displays the file location remains greyed out all the time.
