I cannot find how to do an outline (or strike, in photoshop terms) on an object. Fill, yes, but outline, no. Yet I see others' webpages in this forum with them.

Deleted your other post since it's not necessary to have multiple posts with the same question(s). Good luck on your issue as I'm sure someone will be able to help you with this. I don't use VSD so we'll wait on someone else :)

The way I do outlines, Michael, is to experiment withe the Shapes tool. You can build an outer edge and an inner edge for your outline/border to the size and thickness you require. Then use Fill between the two and fill the shape with your object.

Giving the people what they want is fundamentally and disastrously wrong. The people don’t know what they want. They want to be entertained, that’s all. Don’t give the people what they want – give ‘em something better!

By object I am going to assume that you mean picture or photo. If so, could you not put an outline or frame on the picture in your graphic editor (assuming you have one) and then save it and then import into VSD?

I feel really dumb. I mean, this is dumbed down software at its best and I can't figure out how to use it. I see from the many examples folks on this forum have posted that they are successfully finding ways to put lines around graphical elements. I cannot. I tired Skip's idea, early this morning in fact, and can't seem to make it work. I really don't understand the difference shadow and bevel in Effect Properties. They look to me to have the same result.

Most of my pictures in my sites in the links below in my signature appear to have frames around them

Actually they are not frames BUT a solid image behind each picture created with the object tool, with the image pasted on top

Started using CC VSD in January 2009, I don't do HTML code, Sales from CC site exceeding expectations taken me out of semi-retirement

You can also group objects so they won't get out of whack if you need to move them.

Michael-
You can also create what appears to be a frame by using the Effect Tool. Once you create a shape, with it highlighted select the Effect tool. Use the Bevel Tool and play around with the different choices and the sliders to select the degree of offset or softness you desire. You'll also find in Effects there are Shadow and Glow tools as well.
Yes, layers work too, or there is a shape that is a frame. If you have VSD 7, try the buttonizer tool for neat effects on that frame shape.

Good Luck!
