"Out of memory" error box when I try to upload website.

When I press UPLOAD, VSD starts to SAVE file... during the SAVE, the box pops up :"Out of memory" error". This hangs up the whole program & i'm forced to abort using CTRL-ALT-DELETE.

I have PLENTY of memory! :/

Does it mean that you have not saved your project before you press Upload? And is your project a very comprehensive one? Please say a bit more about what you are doing and in which sequence.
Ha en riktig god dag!

Stephen,

I also had this problem with VSD, but it didn't begin to occur until my site was up around 220 pages. What I noticed was that due to the size of the site and moreover the number of pics that I had, it would take upwards of 10 minutes to save or preview and I would also receive the error message that you are seeing. I was able to correct this though. If you have many pics, did you resize and adjust them for the web? If not coffeecup has a PixConvertor that will help you out a great deal. Also, if you have many pages, you may want to consider breaking your site into mini sites and linking them together. Example: www.mysite.com/newsite
Without more information about your problem, I'm only taking a stab in the dark, but perhaps it will help you.

Ok. What about a guy who's got a site with only 12 pages that is still getting this memory error?

JP, I would check the system information for your memory. It sounds like you may be having some pc trouble or you have another program running that's eating up your memory. When you hit crtl-alt-del and go to performance, it will also tell you the total memory you have available and how much is being used. It could also be a sign of a virus messing up how your programs are running.

Well, I rolled back from Vista x64 to XP Pro SP3 thinking that would free up some memory... I was right. I've got 2gig of DDR2 ram and it's running good. Even when I have VSD open I've still got plenty of memory. But, I still get the memory error. Everytime. Whether I'm previewing or saving the vnu file, I get an error. I also scanned for errors using Norton and AVG and neither found anything threats.
I had been using VSD 5.8.5 previously but I upgraded to 5.9.4 recently and that's when the errors began. Is it possible to save the vnu so that I can open it in the previous verison of VSD? It doesn't seem to want to work, but thought I'd ask. (Site details: # of pages... 12. # of objects... 332.)
Here's some views of my memory... first without VSD running... second with VSD running...

PS: I tried this new "re-sync my site" option and guess what popped up? Yeah... "Out of Memory".

I'm starting to think that the new version of VSD has got some bugs in it. I can't remember having this issue with the previous versions.

Hi JP,
I'm not claiming to know the answer to this but I would google "out of memory" just to get an idea of what to look for, it could basically be anything like installing VSD over the previous version, or the firewall, anti-virus (which should be turned off for testing) to being installed in an external flash drive, or installed on a secondary hard drive instead of C,

First I would try to uninstall it, go into the hard drive and delete the folder, restart the comp, and reinstall just to see it that helps any. Turn off all anti virus and firewalls, close any programs running in the background (again) and see what happens.
Once you have upgraded your website to a newer version from an old version, it cannot be open again in the older version at all. (there's no going back) sorry.

Ok. I'll try an uninstall and reinstall (again) and see what happens, but it didn't fix anything last time I tried. It's a bummer that I can't reinstall 5.8.5 and use that. That sucks.

I'll let you know...

Nope. Didn't work. I even downloaded the trial and installed that... no good. This version sucks and I'm getting upset. I've got at least 60 hours into this site and now I'm forced to find another WYSIWYG builder and start from scratch. That sucks... hard. This version of VSD (5.9.4) is crap. I hope they stop selling it. Just take a look around here... there's VSD v5.9.4 error posts all over the place!

Screw it. I'm done with CC VSD. Now to search for a STABLE site builder.
