Object properties, link properties,...

Well I've had this problem off and on since VSD 3.0 and I'm not sure how to fix it.
When I create a text object, the object properties box that opens does not display fully, leaving me no access to several of the options, such as centering text instead of left justified, etc. The box will not allow me to drag it's corner to make it larger, and when I close the box and re-open it, it does the same thing. I have installed, un-installed and re-installed 2x now with no improvement. If I cannot fix the problem I guess that the entire website that I've been trying to build will just have to be re-done with a better site design software, but seems like that'd be a shame, I'm just about through with this program, however. Can anyone help?

Greg,

VSD is currently at version 6.0.6. This might be a good time to upgrade.

Does this problem just occur with the one box, or does it happen with all the boxes?

Has the problem always been there, or is it a recent problem?

If it is recent, did you change computers, or make some upgrade?

What is your DPI display property setting? (96 is normal and if you have 120, that is likely the cause.)

I have been having this problem as well!! What is DPI and how do I change it?

On a side note, when I design now, what appears on the web is off, ie, it's not all lined up like it is in the editor. Same issue with DPI??

Also make sure you are not using 800x600 display size.

For Windows XP
Go to your Desktop, right-click it, and select Properties. Next, click the Settings Tab and press the Advanced button -- you will now see a DPI setting. If this is set to Large/120 DPI, set it to Normal/96.

For Windows Vista
Go to your Desktop, right-click it, and select Personalize. Select Adjust Font Size (DPI), located in the upper left-hand corner of the window. This will display the DPI setting. If it is set to Large/120 DPI, set it to Normal/96 DPI.

Whit,

Try reinstalling with all virus software/firewalls etc turned OFF. I used to have Norton on my computer and that software screwed up about 50% of every software that I tried to use in any way, including CC software. Finally got rid of that horrible program. In my opinion Norton IS a virus itself.

Oops did I get off topic?

My point is, your virus software can definitely impact the install and functioning of CC software. So try reinstalling it with virus/firewall turned off and then try using it for a few minutes before turning any of that stuff back on and see what happens. Excellent suggestions from Scott and Bill about the screen resolution also...

Help! I have Windows 7 and I can't find the DPI setting. I'm having the exact same issue with the Object Properties box not fully displaying. I'll keep looking for the DPI setting.

For Windows 7
Go to your Desktop, right-click it, and select Personalize. Select Display, located in the lower left-hand corner of the window. Then select Set Custom Text Size (DPI). This will display the DPI setting. If it is set to Large/120 DPI (125%), set it to Normal/96 DPI (100%).
