I purchased additional themes for VSD and extracted them to "My themes" folder. However, they do not show up under Category when I try to make a new web site. There are only "Default Themes"
I reinstalled VSD but still no new themes show up. Can someone help me?
Windows 7, Visual Site Designer 6.6. No web site yet.

Check that they are not in a folder within a folder within a folder and that there is a file there for each theme that is a png file called "preview"
I know you believe you understand what you think I said...but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not exactly what I meant.
No ping files. Here are the instructions that came in the zip file:
The following step-by-step instructions will show you how to install Visual Site Designer theme packs.
1. Download your Visual Site Designer Theme Packs from your Customer Care Center. The Theme Packs will be in ZIP format.
2. Make sure Visual Site Designer is closed.
3. Extract the VNU, VNS and and the accompanying _website folder located in the theme pack ZIP
file to C:\Program Files\CoffeeCup Software\CoffeeCup Visual Site Designer\Themes\My Themes
4. Open Visual Site Designer. The themes will now be listed under the Themes from Category area.
Does that help?

Some of the theme packs had the png Preview files left out so I would suggest opening a Support Ticket.
Click on Get Support in the purple toolbar above and go from there.

Those themes were fixed. I am pretty sure by what you are describing you are extracting the folder incorrectly. If you go look in C:\Program Files\CoffeeCup Software\CoffeeCup Visual Site Designer\Themes\My Themes you will see that the folders and files are probably incorrectly unzipped. I would suggest just using Windows Compressed Folders and manually extract the theme instead of whatever compression program you are using.

Videos did it, guys. Thanks so much. I can't wait for the day that I'll be able to give another member the right answer to a question. I'm just starting with VSD so it's gonna be a long wait.
I've been using WebStudio so I'm a little disappointed that in order to add music and video I have to buy additional software. I like VSD better so far; it just looks like it's going to be much more expensive.
Great customer service.

Hiya Cheryl,
I'm confused as how VSD will be more expensive than WebStudio? I just looked at the prices and WebStudio sells for approx. $179.00 and VSD sells for $49.00, am I missing something or did I misunderstand what you meant?
Not only that, Webstudio you have to pay for upgrades on and VSD as well as all CC software is free upgrades for life

Even adding the jukebox and video programs wouldn't bring it up to $179. Plus, you can order the extra programs in a web-extension pack and get a discount on them (25% off 3 items, 40% off 5 or more). And as Jo Ann mentioned, the free upgrades - you never have to worry about not having enough cash on hand when a new/updated version comes out.
It's really nice that CC keeps all your purchase info right here on the site so you can go grab your upgrade whenever - you don't have to order it. Very handy when my main computer crashed - I just went to my downloads and got all my stuff - no need to dig up registration #s and re-order everything.

Like Cheryl, I cannot view my downloaded theme in the Theme dialog. I downloaded 'Blue Silk' photo gallery. There are no .vnu or .vns files. I have VSD Ver 7 build 24 on Windows 7.
The instructions say to move the files to folder C:\Program Files\CoffeeCup Software\CoffeeCup Photo Gallery\Themes\ First, CoffeeCup is in folder C:\Program Files (x86), and Secondly, there is no folder named CoffeeCup Photo Gallery. I tried creating one but that didn't help.
Any help appreciated.
