More than a little frustrated... -...
Fair warning; I've quit smoking 9 days ago! OK, you've been warned!!
I am trying to add to my website, which is still very infant, and all was going well. I've added several pages, saved, uploaded, no problems. Today I try to add a page and the damn thing crashes every time I try to save. If I open the site and immediately save - no problem. If I open the site and at a text box and save - crash. If I open the site and change a letter in an existing text box and save - crash!!
I am running XP Pro, service pack 3, Pentium 4 - 3.2GHz, 2GB ram, VSD 7.0 build 18, CC Photo Gallery 5.96 build 4.
Here is the less than helpful message I get: Visual Site Designer Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
When I go to "To see what data this error report contains, click here" this is what I see: AppName: vsd.exe AppVer: 7.0.18.0 ModName: mfc90.dll
ModVer: 9.0.30729.1 Offset: 0020e676
I'm sure you need for information but that's all I have the patience for right now.
Thanks,
Craig
PS attached is the file that I can go to that it says will be sent with the error report.
Thanks again

This worked for one time. Now it's back to crashing whenever I try to save.
Why are you still on Build 18? Build 24 has been out for over 9 months. You should upgrade to the latest version and see what that does for you.

I wonder if re-installing VSD might help? Go to your downloads and get a nice fresh install
, then try Eric's suggestion.
Since switching to Windows 7, I have to do the 'run as admin' thing or VSD won't even open. It works just fine with that set up, though.
If the above suggestions don't work for you, don't make yourself crazy – put in a support ticket so the CC people can give you some help

Definitely get the latest version before you do anything else.

Scott, I was still on build 18 because I wasn't aware of the update...sorry!!
Downloaded the new update, installed, made a change, saved, program crashed!! Tried the 'run as' with the new update and.....program crashed!
It's just so frigging frustrating that I haven't had time to do squat with my site and now that I do I start having all these problems. Especially since it was working absolutely fine and then BAM, no longer working. Oh well, I'll submit a work ticket and keep my fingers crossed.
Thanks for the help

Have you installed anything else about the same time the problem started?

Try this. Open your site again and do a File > Save As and save your website to a new folder on your desktop. Now restart VSD and open the newly saved website as see how that goes.
