Hi, I'm creating a community website, but I'm not happy with the way the menu is displaying at the moment. http://www.nannerch.com the menu has two sub menus, one on 'Pubs, Hotels etc' and one on 'Clubs and Organisations'. The Pubs one wraps, and I have no idea why! The menu was created in Blumentals Easy Button and Menu Maker REMOVED LINK TO OUTSIDE SOFTWARE. I contacted their support (twice) and this is the latest reply I had
'This happens because of the way how CoffeeCup handles and creates HTML webpages. I downloaded a trial version of CoffeeCup but I have not found a reliable solution yet.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.'
Ajny ideas?

I tested your menu on a page in my vsd and it displayed properly. There must be something crowding the menu. Try changing the z index position of the menu and the other elements on the page. Click on "Object" then "Orange" then send the other elements back and bring the menu to the front.

I can't hear what I'm looking at.

There is no special 'way how CoffeeCup handles and creates HTML webpages'. It's plain straight forward.
If you see the 'Clubs and organisations' menu item, it has submenues consisting of two words separated by a / but without spaces, so it is read as one word. I bet a pound to a penny that if you had written e.g. 'brownies / rainbows', WITH spaces, that menu would have wrapped as well. So if you had a long enough word in the other submenu, it would not wrap. Isn't there some width setting for submenues in that programme?

Thanks for the help, there is a setting in the main menus, but not in sub-menus, unfortunately. Is there something I can put in the code to stop it wrapping i.e. set a width?
If you had been using the html Editor, I would have known very well what to do, but in VSD I'm not sure. The thing is to create a class, e.g. '.submenu', give it some properties like width, colour and border, and then also apply this class to the li's of the submenu. Maybe one of the VSD experts can walk you through this.

Janet,
In that menu programme you are using, do you get a html file and a css file after creating the menu? If you do, we can style the submenus BEFORE they are added to VSD.

Err, not too sure. I get a load of html to copy. I've tried adding a width, but probably did it wrong!
Janet, Make your html box 350 wide.

Can I buy the html editor, and do it that way, even though I use VSD?
Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
