This might be the wrong place to ask this, but why does VSD need to RE-upload the ENTIRE site every time I want to make a change? Is there a way around this? A setting that I'm missing perhaps? My site is getting pretty awesome (if I dont say so myself) but as it gets more advanced it is taking longer and longer to upload everything. I'll bet I'm at 10+ minutes now. Not that I'm impatient, it's just that it leaves time for my server to time out or VSD to kick back an "error uploading website" ... error.
Hi Brian,
Actually it's not uploading anything except the changes, even though it may seem like it. You make a change to a page or two but VSD has no idea which ones so it has to go through page by page to find what changes if any that were made. Then it uploads thoses pages at the end. Does seem like it uploading at times but if you read the little window that pops up and watch what it says , you'll see what I mean. Now the quickest way around this for me was after making some changes was to save it, then use filezilla to upload the pages I changed and the files folder in my website folder. You may also want to upload the .vnu file into the backup folder so you'll have a backup as well.
