Links not working - Post ID 100716
I have an older website that I am currently redoing, so I haven't worked on it for a while. I have discovered that my email contact link is now not working (worked ok before). I have checked that the email address I have in the link box is correct and it is, but none of my emails are coming through to me. I haven't had this problem before as it's all been pretty straightforward in the past and has worked fine. Here's the link in question
http://www.woodcraft.net.au/contact.html
Just checked another recent page and found the same thing - the email link does not work again.

This is driving me insane and I need these links to work as they are for our business. Not sure how many enquiries we've missed out on thus far!

Hi Debbie,
The link on the woodcraft page works, in the sense that my e-mail program pops up a page with all the proper addresses filled in, etc. when I click on it. The address in the link, as I'm sure you know, is different from the displayed address on the web page. If this is the correct address, then it must work since at that point it is independent of the web page - if you see what I mean...
On the pups page, the e-mail address is displayed (the same address as in the link on the woodcraft page), but there is no actual link. This should obviously "work", but the visitor must copy the address and send a regular e-mail.
What exactly is it that "does not work"?

I took the link off the pups page but have put it back in. I have tested the link and all seems to be in order as you found also, but emails are not getting through to me when I test it. Notably the Wood Craft one bothers me the most.
Beginning to sound more like a general e-mail problem than a web-page-link problem... You wouldn't have any over-zealous spam filters or other blockages, would you?
I just sent you three e-mail tests:
1. Using the link on the Deb'sWebs home page
2. Using the link on the woodcrafts contact page
3. Using no links, just typed your e-mail address, etc...
If you don't get any of these, then you have an e-mail blockage problem unrelated to your web page links...
Hope we're getting closer to a solution...

I received all those links you sent. Trouble is I don't receive my own emails, so I would say it's an email issue somewhere. Now to find out where the emails I send myself are actually going :S
Thanks for taking the time to try the links Per - appreciate it and at least I know I'm not missing out on business enquiries.

Glad we got that part sorted!
Now, if it's only your own e-mails that do not arrive, your e-mail address (i.e. the one you're sending from) may for some reason be blacklisted by one of the various spam listing services. If your ISP has been labelled "vulnerable to abuse", or similar, a wide range of their ip-addresses may have been blacklisted and many mail hosts will not accept mail from them. You wouldn't even get a message to the effect that your mail was undeliverable.
This may sound like a long shot, but I have had that happen to me with one ISP. You may want to contact your ISP to enquire, or Google something about 'ip spam lists', or whatever the proper terms are...
