Is there a way of changing the color of "visited links" for existing pages in a VSD design? Seems that there is only facility to change link colors for new pages (and that crashes my site, just for kicks!).

Hello Dan,
To change the color of your links, simply go to the Settings menu, and then click Standard Settings for New Pages. Here, you can select the color of both visited and unvisited links. Once you've made your selections, make sure you hit the button on the left-hand side to apply these settings to existing pages as well!

Looks like about 8 pages. So the software shouldn't freeze when changing the link colors. Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling the software?

Monica, the software doesn't freeze, it just trashes the layout of the page. The bottom 20% of the page just disappears. There are links down there, which may have something to do with it.
I'm getting increasingly frustrated with VSD, especially when used on sites that have more than 6+ pages. It's very fragile and unstable, crashes a lot, and has many weird side effects that consume an enormous amount of time fixing or working around. (See my other recent post about my VSD sites that take many seconds to load. All of the CC chorus weighed in that this is normal and acceptable. What a joke).
Thanks for your help. I guess I'll have to live with purple links until I re-code the entire site in HTML.

Dan, these issues sound more like a bad install then anything else. Changing the link colors should have no impact on the stability of the software itself. I would suggest uninstalling the software, run a registry cleaner (ccleaner.com is a nice one), reboot and then reinstall the software. This should correct any stability issues you have.

As someone who has used CC Visual Site Designer for almost three years, I can assure this is as stable as any other software out there. No software is perfect, and there are many factors that can cause a "crash", might not even be the CC software's "fault." I encourage you to disable your firewall and virus, and then re-install software (run install file "as administrator" in windows). If the software wasn't stable I would not have been able to create these sites in it:
