Hey all,
I just finished putting a lightbox gallery into my VSD site. It was frustrating to say the least...it took about two weeks of off and on work. I feel way over my head with html and web design in general. I can't believe it finally worked! I don't really know what I did...hahaha.
So, I used to have my custom favicon that always showed up, but now it's the lightbox favicon on every page. I'm sure it's something simple, but I wanted to ask before I screwed something up. I made some changes to my captions and the whole gallery changed. I'm a bit leery now, I don't want to mess it up again.
I'm using VSD ver. 7 I think, with windows 7, on a pc. Don't really know other details about my system.

Hey Eric...thanks for the reply. I did that a while back, before I ever tried the lightbox. It worked great, my favicon always showed up. Since the lightbox addition, it's just theirs.
I dug up my old favicon, moved it to the desktop, and once it left the folder it was in (which displayed the icon correctly) and hit the desktop, it turned into their logo!
Is that weird?
I went to my files folder in my S-drive dashboard and deleted their favicon. Will that get rid of it?
I'm kinda worried to publish again, I don't want the gallery to go haywire again.

Yeah that's one of the annoying things that that company likes to do, with the paid versions too. They add a watermark to the images and they alter the favicon setup. Very intrusive practices, but great software.

In VSD couldn't you go Edit->Add Files->Root and stick your favicon.ico in there. Then every time you upload / update using VSD it will over wright whatever favicon is there with your chosen one? Once there's a favicon in the root of the server it should show up. As for other pages with Lightbox customization you'd have to open them and insert <link href="favicon.ico" rel="shortcut icon" /> anywhere between <head> and </head>. In VSD this can be added using Edit->Edit Header

Nah, the Lightbox people are sneaky and put a script in there that routes the favicon to theirs if I recall correctly. What you need to do is find the location of the lines that contain that redirect to that favicon and just remove those lines. Once you do that it should take care of itself within a day. Keep refreshing the page and clearing your cache for a while and it should fix it then.

Maybe deleting it from my dashboard got rid of theirs and mine? It's so weird, I have my old favicon on my desktop but the icon I see is theirs until I double click it and actually open it, then it's mine!
I'm confused....

It's still in the root of your site. Delete it or upload a new one.

It worked! I put mine back in the root folder and deleted theirs from my _website folder.
I wonder if I change my lightbox gallery, it will happen again?
If so, I'm more confident that I can fix it.
