Keeping text on same line - Post ID...

Hi,

I created a text box on a page for a paragraph title. I entered the title and it looks good in Visual Designer but when I preview the page the text appears on two lines as if the text box wasn't wide enough to accommodate the full title. I've made sure to make the text box large enough for the text and plenty of extra space.

How do I fix this?

Thanks,

J-M

Not up yet, still in development. Only previewed the page using the 'Preview' button in Visual Designer.

Does the title box overlap any other element?

This often causes problems, here's some text advice from Scott:

Are you using the latest VSD version/build? If not, you should upgrade before you make yourself crazy with the text. And.. if you still have a problem, at least we'll know it's not due to how an old VSD version is displayed in a newer browser.

I have exactly the same problem - sometimes fixed by an extra space. The text boxes are usually one line but I have been careful not to overlap other boxes or elements.

I downloaded the software from your site about a week ago so it should be current

Is there any way of entering a non breaking space in the text?

Roy, Do you have a link to the page you can share? CC has been working on improving the text box's really hard the last couple of weeks. There's a few of us testing a beta version and it's looking good. It's not my recommendation at this time for others to try it but I've been intentionally putting text box's over other elements and hitting the return at the end to test how much you can get away with. I do have some pages with a large amount of text 2,000 to 3,000 words and they do render pretty good.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Eric,

Large amounts of taext are fine - it is singel libes that cause the most problems

See this page. -

http://www.somersvilla.com.au/Links.html
.
All of the links on the left hand side wrap on the web page but not in VSD.

Simailarly the text box on http://www.somersvilla.com.au/Location.html has a run over on the "pm"

Looks like your hitting enter at the end of your sentences. If you want your text to appear right you have to enter each line that needs to be a custom length in its own text box.:)

That is not the answer. I have tried single lines, multiple lines with hard returns, single lines with & without hard returns and with and without a space at the end. It seems as if we should be able to put in a non breaking space as you can do with HTML.

Also I note that the text display on multiple line paragraphs is ofthen different in the browser from the way that is shows up in VSD - breaks occur at different places.
