It's Working
I'm nor sure if the thread has been deleted, but a couple of weeks ago I was having a lot of trouble with the very basic things and I started a thread about it. I got a lot of good advice, but none of it worked. Finally one of the administrators here suggested that I set up a tech phone call, which I did.
I still don't know what the actual problem was, but neither the tech nor me could fix it. I believe he said this was the only case that he couldn't fix it from the other end and getting into my account.
I have a new laptop, an ASUS, that I hadn't set up at the time, but now I have. I did that tonight. Thanks to the good people at CoffeeCup I am allowed and able to download all of my paid programs. I've only downloaded Visual SIte Designer and I did a quick test page. I set the settings and hit Publish. Lo and behold it worked. It was just one sentence, but that's all I need to know that it works.
That episode a couple of weeks ago baffled everyone. I still have no idea what happened specifically, but now it looks like it was a glitch in my computer. Where and what, I have no idea. I got this new ASUS just for my writing, recording, and creative projects such as building websites. I won't be putting it on line much, and only then fr specific things through trusted websites.
Now I can start transferring all the iWeb files on my iMac to a flash drive and put them on my new machine. I'm going to leave my current site up and put the new site on my free CoffeeCup site.
Yes, it was frustrating, and I was ready to through in the towel. Still, I tried to be respectful of CoffeeCup and the forum here, despite everything going wrong all the time. It looks like it's some glitch in my old laptop, and quite frankly I don't know what casued it and I don't care. I have a clean machine, a new and clean download, and so far everything is working as it should on the new ASUS.
Thank you all for your patience and suggestions during a very frustrating time for me. Whatver the problem was couldn't be fixed no matter how much good advice I got here, because the whole fiasco appears to be a comuter problem.
I wanted to make a special effort to start a new thread about it here so no one would have doubts about the quality of the CoffeeCup programs. They are all fine. It was my laptop that caused the trouble. So, here's another ringing endorsement for CoffeeCup, and especially the administrators and phone support. It took a good while on the phone to get to the bottom of the mystery.
Thanks again to all who so generously and kindly offered help, and to the CoffeeCup tech staff. I'll keep you posted and let you know when my new site is up and will give the URL here for you to check it out.
Kind Regards,
Don

Thanks for your persistence Don. The experience you had isn't that common so knowing what to do to fix it isn't very obvious. Glad you got it working. Have fun with your new discovery.

Thank you for the answer! That was hard to find and was bothering me.
