Using VSD7-build 24, Win.Vista 32 bit...

I haven't uploaded the page yet, so no link. Anyway, I keep getting the warning when I paste copied text (from a website) into a VSD text box. The warning pops up and as before, it won't go away. I've been able to get rid of it by clicking Esc a few dozen times (better than CTRL+ALT+Delete and losing everything).
Has anyone else come across this? Maybe I'll go try it on a test page on my site - see if I can get it to happen again :P

What did you go and do now! :)

Most of the time things like this can be solved by a File > Save As and then save your website to a new folder. Once you do that, restart VSD and open the newly saved website.

Thanks Scott! I was beginning to think it just follows me around, patiently waiting for a fresh new page to nest in  I was being lazy this time. Copying/pasting some 'lorum ipsum...' filler text. I tried putting it in notepad first, then copied that and so far, no more warnings.
I will be saving this as something else soon enough, this is just a mock-up for someone to check out.

Yep, I got it too this past weekend while updating my sites. Using latest build of VSD on Vista 32 bit. I also copied text off my site to update the archive when it happened. By hitting the Cancel button a few dozen times the last thing is the error box would turn white and the next click I was back to the page on VSD. Save and continue w/o any further problems on that page, but it happened three times on three pages I updated with copied text. I still noticed it happened when I click out of the set width area of the page when the text box is in red.

I get this same problem and the only way out of it is CTRL/ALT/DELETE as the program freezes completely. I also get NotResponding halfway through Save As.

Web Form Builder is a brilliant program but VSD has too many hang ups has become unreliable so I am swithing to other WYSIWYG software for my main website.

Sorry, but saving and uploading has become too much of a pain in the butt!

Hi Malcom - Just so you know - the "improper argument" thing started when VSD released a new version around the same time as new versions of IE and Firefox came out. With new browsers come new glitches  Other people have also had some text issues since then. The 'problem' with VSD is that it produces fairly clean and compliant (for a WYSIWYG) code, code that will validate. Most WYSIWYG programs produce a real mish-mash of code soup to make them as fool-proof as possible. With VSD, I've found it's probably best to keep things simple - not a lot of overlapped items and special effects - and preview in all the major browsers before an upload.

With the improper argument warning, I've been able to get rid of it by pressing the Esc key several times. The site is just as it was before the warning, nothing lost and I can pick up where I left off.

Web Form Builder is being re-worked. Sometime soon Coffee Cup will be releasing the new non-Flash Form Builder. All HTML/CSS so it will be usable on any device/computer and compliant with modern browsers.

Keep in mind, no WYSIWYG is perfect, and every time major updates come out (whether to the program or web browsers), there will be hurdles to overcome. ;)

I really, really, really, hope there is a fix soon. Have always loved coffee cup software, but this is really making me wonder about my purchase. This keeps popping up and it's getting realy annoying.

James, have you put in a support ticket for this? It might help the CC pros get to the bottom of this if you tell them what's going on when you get the warning. Tell them what system you're using and what you're trying to do when the warning pops up. :)

I just got it too while updating my site, VSD wouldn't respond to anything. Had to shut it down via Windows Task Manager.

I don't know that this has anything to do with previewing or publishing on a particular browser as it also occurs while simply saving a page or Web site. It is annoying and one never knows if the work done will be saved or lost until you close the program and re-open, which must be done with Windows Task Manager in my case.

These adhoc reccommendations are getting tiresome.

paintbrush is trying to sell something which has nothing to do with the issue and I assume Scott doesn't know that you can't save as anything you are working on when this happens, as if this should even be a solution for this issue.
