I created a website for my buddies under waynecrandall.com of our golf trips. Now we want to interact on that website, like having a blog that everyone can input to - kind of like the these forums

is there a way to have a forum type of thing using VSD?

Not directly, but you can add a link to a blog or forum that resides on the same site. Check out WordPress Blog or Simple Machines Forum.
