I have VSD version 6. I swapped one photo on my home page and one photo on page 2, then decided to go back to the original 2 photos on these pages. But now, on both IE and Firefox, these photos do not appear.

All I did was re-upload the original photos on these pages, and I did not change the file location of the photos. In other words, everything's back to the way it was -- but now the photos don't show up. I've tried deleting, re-uploading, checking the link properties, etc. to no avail. I can't imagine what the problem is. My website is http://www.karinkaufman.com Thanks!

I would suggest you first upgrade to the latest version of Visual Site Designer. You are using at least a 2 year old version of the software and we have made loads and loads of changes since then. Upgrades are free, so why not take advantage of them? ;)

Sure, I can do that, and I will, but I'd really rather not change anything at this time until I find out why the photo is visible on VSD and the preview but not on the web. I'm nervous about making further changes because the image disappeared for no reason that I can figure out. Any ideas on what may have happened?

Karin - At this point, I'd have to urge you to upgrade as well... The problem "may" disappear while doing so (and frankly let's hope it does ;)). But, by not upgrading until you 'fix' the problem, you are really asking a lot out of the Techs at CC. You're wanting them to go back two years in their memory, or find a two year old copy of the program and load it up for you, to 'try' to recreate the problem so they can help solve it...

When you switched the photos back did you select ones that were outside the VSD folder? I would try copying the images you want to have on your page to a folder outside the VSD folder then add them to your home page the standard way in VSD and browse to that folder outside of VSD.:)
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Yes, I always use photos ouside the VSD folder -- the same folder all the time. In an effort to fix the problem, I deleted the photo altogether and added it again using the standard way and by browsing to that outside folder. I haven't changed the way I've done anything, and I haven't changed the folder location, but it's as if VSD doesn't recognize that folder anymore -- although all my other photos are still in that same outside folder. I have a feeling that if I deleted any other photo on my home page and then tried to add it again using the standard VSD way, that photo would also disappear. :|

Phil, thanks. I will upgrade (and I may have to anyway as a last resort), but you can imagine my reluctance at this point. Something has changed without me having changed it, and I may lose tens of hours of work on my web site because of it. I'm not up to "tinkering" with anything more than I absolutely have to. :)

I deleted another photo on my home page then added it again in the standard way and now ALL the photos on my site appear as they should. Problem fixed! How strange. I'll upgrade now, but if anyone has any idea about what might have been going on, I'd love to hear it. :D

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
