Ya know that point in which you're so frustrated you're literally ready to step in front of a speeding bus? I'm soooooo there!

So, I've uploaded this site to my client's server (godaddy)--THREE TIMES. The first two tries were using the same project files created in VSD...the third try was after overwriting the entire project, just to make sure things were in their proper place, and renaming it. Still no dice....both versions appear exactly the same way after uploading (and of course, everything is picturesque when previewed in VSD),

Keep in mind, I'm new to CC software, so I've kind of been winging it through the entire project, but when it comes to uploading the site, everything should be black and white, regardless of the software used to create the flippin thing! Or so I thought....

Strange thing is, after uploading, I can see some flash files (on my intro and home page only, as I can't get past the homepage to check the rest of the site, because my navigation menu was created with VSD as basic links), but all of the regular 'ole boring content isn't appearing, such as backgrounds, main text content, basic design elements and graphics, etc. (save a few short blurbs of text here and there). Most of my graphics are .png and I originally thought that might be the problem, but when I started combing through the site files, I found that even .jpg files aren't displaying, not to mention I thought the .png issue was resolved in VSD 6.0.

I hope this makes some sort of sense--don't know how else to explain it and I'm too irritated to try! I have a feeling it's some ridiculously idiotic mistake that I'm overlooking, out of sheer exhaustion, but the elevator's no longer reaching the penthouse, if ya catch my drift.

Can someone please, please take a look at this and maybe explain what in blazes I'm doing wrong? http://www.vegashaircreations.com . I'd love to get on with my life at some point (not to mention get paid for this endeavor!).

Thanks-a-bazillion!

....adding that my ftp file manager is telling me my "directory tree is not available".

Hi Chris,
Vsd has a folder named "files" which holds all the images, and within that folder is a folder called"downloads" which holds documents.
the files structure of VSD will be the files folder then everything else outside it.
Seeing that the images are not presenton the page and I can't seem to find them, maybe VSD can't either. In my settings for the ftp with Godaddy (in VSD) I have a forward slash in the WWW slot, is it possible the files folder is not where it should be, or you uploaded to the wrong directory?
Anything is possible right! Please let us know. :)

Oh and frames are possible in VSD ;)

Hi there--thanks for responding. I'm looking at the file folder VSD created for me right now. Within the project's folder, it did create the "files" folder you mentioned, which contains all of my png's and jpg's, and another with my jukebok's files for the mp3 and structure for the player. Outside of that folder (but still within the VegasHairCreations-v6_website folder) are my html's, swf's etc. This structure was created by VSD when I saved my project, both under the original name and the new one. I think my confusion is coming when I upload the files. What should the structure be when I'm using the ftp client? I'm used to the structure of publisher, which I'm starting to suspect has been "idiot-proofed", so I could very well be rearranging the structure when I upload, thinking it needs to be modeled after what I'm used to seeing. Does that make sense? On godaddy, what does your directory tree look like when all of your VSD files are where they should be and the site is functioning normally?

And I see where to edit the code for frames now....but hell will freeze over before I redesign anything with this site, until I have the uploading part licked! My head can only handle so many new gray hairs at a time and I've reached my quote, for the moment! ;)

the file structure on upload should be the same....Hello! (as in hi)

if you use direct ftp then you would highlight from the files folder down and drag it to the right side (to server) or how you have it set up...:)

ahhh...I see one problem already. I'm stuck on needed an "index_files" folder and have been rearranging the whole VSD structure to accommodate for one that I've manually added on the ftp client! Nothing like making things more complicated than they need to be!

Lemme tinker with it a little and letcha know what I come up with. :)
