Once again I appreciate the help, I kinda like the website Im making, it has a LONG way to go but its getting better.

QUESTION 2: Is there a way that I can make the actual Screen Im working in the same size as the computer Screen? When I work on a screen and I see all of them in the Coffee Cup Program it looks fine, when it goes on the web, it only looks like it takes up about 75% of whats actually there. Im sure its something Im doing.
QUESTION 3: With Coffee Cup, can I get scrolling long screens? Like for Pictures? I have a lot of phots Im going to post. I figure the best way is to break them down into file folders like pouches on the main Photo PAge, then hyper link them to a dedicated page for each folder so I can just post them. But what if I cant put more than a grouop of 4 wide by 4 tall? How do I just keep stacking them?
mini question 3: hehehe, if I post a picture, can I hyper link it to a full page picture of that same mini picture say for when people want to copy it or save it in a full size version?

Im learning by the minute. Thanks for the input and advice.

Hi JT,
It is the idea here to make a website nomore then 900 in width and as long as you wish, I prefer 800X1200, this can be changed under the settings tab and "Standard Settings For New Pages" selection. You can manually change the size by hightlighting them to your needs, remember always best to go long and not to wide. There you can center the website, add your background image, color of your links. But I must say these options will not function if you use a template because themplates have a pre-defined size and if those are in any way changed you may screw up the whole thing, nothing would line up.
But if your starting from scratch then you can make all the nessesary changes. this is from what I read here in the forums. I never tried to change the size of a template before but I read what Melanie has mentioned and decided not to. ( thanks Melanie). To show what I'm talking about please DL this tutorial.http://www.kellyinfo.com/web/FirstFrame.zip

2) I think it would be best for you to use Coffeecups Photo Gallery for your images, you can link the big images to even bigger image if you prefer, you can link them to where they can be downloaded if you wished to. You can resize the large part of the gallery to your thumbnail size to give it the scrolling look and it can link to where ever the larger ones are at, pretty cool Huh!

answer to the mini question; you can make a thumbnail image say 100X100, and add a page and make that image 500X500 now just go back and click on the thumbnail (blue border around it) then link that to the page with the larger image. this will take up alot of space and bandwidth on your server unless you have unlimited as I do. Another way could be that you use the Photo Gallery, and link the pictures in the folder you made for the images as you were saying, and link them that way, or put each image on it's own html page in the folder and link them that way as well. Or there are free galleries out there wher you can just Iframe them in when you use their stufffffffffff.....ewwwwww!
just kidding.

Speaking of templates....my mind often ruminates on something long after the "conversation" is over...

I really need to fire up VSD again...been a while...but I am wondering about doing "split" templates...meaning there is a background design that ...kind of fades, or a header that is placed at the top... but a bottom image that can be placed at the ---well, bottom...

That would make the page expandable....

The catch is if the content is absolutely positioned, then there won't be anything to make the page length expand.

I think I got it figured out. Another question, if you look at my website, www.isispipesanddrums.com, how do I add a music file with a play button on my practice pages? I want to be able to click and display one of the songs, then click a audio file to play, Just curious, I ask this because I am using only the Coffee Cup program. Is there anohter type I can or should use for this? Once again any help is appreciated.

JT,

If your music files are MP3, all you should need to do is allow the client side to play the file by creating a link to the file.

You may want to have a graphic of some music notes, or maybe an instrument.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
