I'd appreciate any help anyone can offer here:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have a page divided into three stacked areas (objects, right?).

The top third is a form - easy enough.

The middle third is where I'd like to display the search results of the search box that inhabits the bottom third area.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The bottom search area is actually a Google Image search. The HTML (so far) looks like this:
<div style="border-top:1px solid #999;border-bottom:1px solid #999;padding: 7px;" ><form method="get" action="http://images.google.com/images" target="_blank"><input type="text" name="q" /><input type="submit" value="Search Google Images" /></form></div>

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've created another separate page to 'house the search results - lets call that page results.html

Now how do I generate the results in the middle area - the one that represents what is currently residing in results.html (blank at the moment).

I'd appreciate any help offered. Don't be afraid to use "Target and Frames for Dummies" language with me. I could probably use it :/

Thanks-
-Josh

Why do you need to use an Iframe?:)
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

I probably don't. ;)

Anything that'll work. Any ideas ? The 'image search results' will allow clients to choose images that they can enter into the form (by url, etc). Just as long as I can have them stacked as mentioned - I'll use any method.

Thanks -

I guess it all depends on how you want the search to appear. I'm taking it that you want the search results to appear but you stay on a page that looks like your site.
Here's one problem with Google Search in an iframe.
There appears to be some work arounnds though.:)

Thanks. I'm aware that Google is 'steering' users toward a pay service for these search features. I don't mind as they tend to keep it reasonable (I use Google Apps paid service too). It will be a key feature for my customers so well worth a small yearly fee.

Do you think it would be easiest just to set this up with Google and take the code snippet they give and plop it into an html object ?

Please don't hesitate to educate me here - I'm not entirely sure how it will work.

If not an iFrame what would that middle section be ? How would it display ?

Thanks in advance -

@ Eric -

I just grabbed the iframe snippet from your iFrame page at http://progrower.coffeecup.com/iframe.html and plugged it in to see how it worked.

It worked great.

The hard part is getting the search field section (bottom third) to 'drive' iFrame results 'frame'.

???

As you can see - I'm a Swiss Cheese scholar - lot's of holes in my knowledge ;)

@ Eric - but I 'bit the bullet' and coughed up a bill for Google Site Search.

It allows me to remover (most of) the Google Branding as well as some other visually appealing stuff.

The CoffeeCup / Google combination seems to be what I've been looking for.

Now if it only works as well after I go live.

-side note - I read in another thread - you mentioned the 40 second delay on preview. I experience the same delay on preview. I hope my customers will never have to endure that wait ?

Thanks !

I've been messing around with Lucene on a site for a search function. I Understand paying for Google. It gets you up and running until maybe something else comes around.
