Hi. I am trying to upload my site. My provider (SBI) keeps telling me I need the files organized in folders labeled "image-files", "support-files", and "media-files". I understand that but I can't get VSD to save it in those files. When I first go to save the site in VSD it makes a "files" folder. I need an "image-files" folder. I tried simply naming the "files" folder "image-files" but it just makes another "file" folder. Does this make sense? I can't figure this one out. How can I make it save in the "image-files" folder?
Thanks.
How VSD saves files?
Ok, so I am assuming that your hosting provider does not know you are using an object based editor for your website (AKA WYSIWYG)? Typically, what your host says is true, but in this case it is not. All you need to do is properly configure the ftp on your VSD software. This is usually the number one reason why people can't get their site uploaded. So let me ask a couple of questions:
1. Did VSD tell you that everything uploaded successfully?
2. How did you configure the built in FTP for VSD? (Under "Publish" > "FTP Settings")
3. Does anything appear on your website?
4. If it is just the image files that are not appearing then follow steps below:
A. Setup a folder on your desktop (call it website)
B. Setup a subfolder within that and call it images.
C. If you are using anything other than images, then put those folders in there too.
D. Put all of your images that you want to use for the website in the images file.
E. Resave your website in VSD to the "Website" folder your created.
This is just to get your organized.
Now in VSD go to "settings" then "add files". Add all of your outstanding files, like your images file ,etc. You want to use this "add files" for anything that you need to add to your website (like images, or special scripts, etc.).
Now, assuming your FTP is setup correctly, try to reupload.
See if this helps. Sorry its so long, not a lot of information to go on.
Good luck, let us know if you need anything else.

The philosopher has not done philosophy until he has acted upon the mere conviction of his idea; for proof of the theory is in the act, not the idea.

The philosopher is correct.
Basically the web site is saved something like this: db.vsd.v6.06.www.yoursitename.com When you upload you only need to point the FTP settings to the httpdocs folder. VSD does all the rest. I suggest saving your sites in different folders in a folder titled CC VSD files. Use just the page designer to set up pages and save the page after adding a image. The image will automatically be saved in the files folder of the web site. Good Luck
