How to "fix" the text size in VSD- so...

I designed www.stetsonfutbol.com with reg. version VSD 5.84 with my old, dying monitor. Now I have a newer, larger monitor and it appears the text is overlapping each other. I can change the settings on Firefox to decrease text size and it "resolves" the problem. My concern is that it may be overlapping with other viewers out there and they may not know how to change their text size to properly view my webpages. I have read similar problems on this forum about using CSS to fix the text size so it would always be consistent , whatever the browser. Can I use CSS with VSD? Any other way to "fix" the size of text?

Hello,

There is an article about this topic that you might be interested in. It can be viewed off our website at ( http://www.coffeecup.com/designer/help/ … d.689.html ) The article deals with Visual Site Designer, but the article can pretty much help with web design in general. I would also like to recommend that you take a look at our latest version which should be 5.9. It may help with your alignment issues.

I there is anything else that we can help you with please let us know.

Thank you,

Hello
I normally use a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080, with the default of 100% for text size.
This past year I kept the resolution but have increased the text size to 125% as my eyes are just not what they used to be.
My website looks fine on the monitor.
However, when I open VSD to change or add to the website, the pages don't display properly, with the title wrapping around and and text over-lapping.
Its a pain to reset my text size each time just use VSD.
Any suggestions?
(my vsd is current, and my webpage is www.hamguyparts.com)

Hi slug13,

I don't believe there is anything you can do. VSD or any application for that matter will cause issues when you increase your resolution to 125%. Resolution is what it is, when you increase it you are telling it to make everything bigger than it was intended to be.

I have a client that always tells me his website doesn't look right and for me to fix it. The fact is he has his 24in Wide screen set to 150% and everything is very large. I told him I could make it so his website looks good to him but his customers would be seeing something far less attractive.

Have you considered using the Magnifier app on your computer and just set your zoom back to 100% and use the Magnifier tool to zoom in on text when you need to read it?

Hope this helps.

Steve's advice is the best. Really have to just create at 100% and use a 'web safe' font so it will look the same on all monitors and browsers. Then let others adjust the magnification to suit themselves.

Thanks Steve & Gunsmoke.
Kind of was expecting that answer!

I don't really like the magnifier app.
Perhaps a new set of "computer glasses" !
