Is this still an unresolved issue? I am new to CoffeeCup software, and I love what I've seen so far. I came here looking for a different issue, and was pulled in by this question because the first time I tried to save my work, I got the same error.
I was looking for an alternative to the horrible new MS FrontPage 2007 and am SO GLAD
I found Coffee Cup. I am converting all of my FrontPage sites over. Like I said, I got this error on the very first site I tried to save after rebuilding from the MS files, but being the fool I am, I just closed the site instead of trying to save or save as etc...
When I re-opened the site, everything was there except for the Coffee Cup flash menu I had created. But then I noticed in the menu builder software that I had put the flash menu builder files in the wrong folder, so I moved them in windows explorer and then I put it back using the insert flash tool.
I hit save and it worked! I closed it, reopened it, made changes to the flash menu, saved, closed and reopened, saved again, just to be sure, everything was perfect.
This fixed mine, I feel it was an error I had made (being a novice this with Coffee Cup's super easy software and accustomed to much more overly complicated FP-BS).
I've converted 3 more websites, no problem. Is there still a "bounty" for the answer? TeeHeeHee! If so, I'd like to claim it. I've got my eyes on your Form designer.
You guys KILL, I don't know what ever possessed me to wait so long to convert to your software sooner, and I am LOVING it!
It appears that as long as VSD knows which folder to look in for the item called to save the page, the problem is fixed. My problem disappeared. And I haven't seen it since. I've converted 3 more, working on a 4th one now, still no problems.
Hope this helps. I may be repeating an earlier post, I didn't have time to read every post in this thread.
Have a great day, my new brew friends!

Welcome To Coffeecup Where Dinning Is As Much Fun As Typing With One Finger!

Just happened to me. I too saved the program and then did a save as on my desktop thinking it would be easier for me to locate the files to upload (Another issue with VSD using the upload from within program). But I did your suggestion of going to each page, hitting control + A. Worked, got the error to go away and saves just fine. I have not done save as since.
Love those Nikon's!
I don't get the "cannot save homepage" message but I've made changes to several websites, gone back in to make additional changes and the previous changes had not been saved. When you're utilizing VSD to make money, this is a huge problem which, in about a day or two, will cause some issues with my clients. I even deleted vsd and then uploaded again. Still, most times will not save changes and I do not receive an error message. Important to note - sometimes I do just get the message that an issue has.... whatever... and then tells me vsd has to close. Hope someone can tackle Scott's challenge. Hellllllllllllllllllp. Thanks.
I can cause this error by nudging the row of link buttons at the bottom of any page very close to the physical page bottom. If the buttons have simple mouseover images I'm told that the HOME page won't save. Doesn't seem to have to be the HOME page that has the buttons, and the buttons don't have to actually touch the bottom, just be "too close."
Don't know if this is the same as what you have...

Oh great, now I'm getting the message after creating a new site....never happened with the old site. Hmmm.......how do I get rid of empty text boxes if I can't see them??
I have had this problem for so long that I just ignored it....until today.
What happened was I modified one of my pages that was used for another purpose on my site.
After making the changes I clicked on Save icon and I got the usual notice that the Homepage could not be saved. So I used Save As and it saved......no big surprise here.
Later on after having made many more changes I again used Save-As to save the file and then closed the application. But when I went to check the files that had been saved I noticed that the video files (which I had thought I had removed) were still there.
I reopened the application and used the settings-remove files tool to remove all of the video files.
Funny, for no particular reason I pressed the Save icon on the control panel and it actually saved the files. I had to pause for a moment to realize that VSD actually saved my files!! That was great!
So, it seems that in this case the homepage save problem plaguing VSD might be in some way related to the CoffeeCup Add Flash Application tool. The problem existed when the files were there, and removing the flash application files gave relief to the problem.
I hope this helps.
