Try making a third site and save it. Don't enter any ftp settings or anything. Just create the third site and do a save as and give the name like test. Now close this site and open your second site and try publishing.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

This is a site I built for my work.(RSD)

This is a site I built for use in my job.(HTML Editor)

This is my personal site used for testing and as an easy way to share photos.(RLM imported to RSD)

Okay Rolly, first I tried republishing it from the right side option (after creating the third test site) and still received the same error message that it "could not create the catalog" and then I tried publishing it using the left hand side option and still received the same message.

When I check the FTP settings I now only see the settings for the site that will not publish. I no longer see the settings for my other site which is live. Is this something that I need to worry about as I'm now afraid when I make any changes on the other live site, that will not publish either. What a mess.

From an older post about the catalog error:

Support specialist Lucia de Francisco responded with this very helpful note:

Hi Bob,

Thanks for contacting us! First, if you are using the hosting provider Godaddy you can leave the www folder blank.

The catalog error you are receiving when you leave this field blank is usually due to one of three things.

1. The WWW folder you have entered in the FTP Settings window is incorrect. If you are not sure what goes in this field, you will have to call your hosting company to make sure you have the correct one.

2. One of the Webpage names contains an uncommon character such as a "/". For instance, if one of your Page IDs is "news/contacts," this can cause the above error. If you remove the "/" you should be fine.

3. You do not have folder creation permissions on your server. When you upload through Visual Site Designer, it has to create a folder on your site. This folder stores your images and files that are displayed on the your site. If the program cannot create the file, it will cause this error. Once again you would have to contact your host and check your permissions if this is the case.

Also, make sure you are the administrator of the computer and that you have the program installed at the main C: drive.

I hope this helps!

Thanks, Lucía de Francisco

Check with your host to make sure your FTP info is correct ;)

I think you are overwriting rather than ADDING a new set of ftp details

If you deleted them ALL it would not matter you can just ADD as NEW again

Please try adding (make sure you select ADD new ) a trial site

ie yourdomain.com/test1

infact why not try adding two or three just to get the feel for how it all works, ADD delete maybe that will help you understand it all.

You should end up with a list of them when you go to EDIT FTP SETTINGS
