Help me publish, please? - Post ID...

I made and published my current website (www.shesaidpop.com) using the demo version of Visual Site Designer. Now I've bought and downloaded the non-demo version and made some changes to what my homepage looks like...and can't figure out how to publish it!

The demo version asked me for:
server
login
password
www.

But when I go to publish NOW, it's asking me for:
server
username
password
remote folder

I was hoping I needed to plug in the same info as last time, regardless of the changed wording, but alas, no: when I do that and then test the connection, it says "error: host not found". My domain is hosted at GoDaddy (not CoffeeCup itself, if that makes a difference).

Can anyone tell me what might be wrong? (And explain it in really small words because I'm not very technical-minded?).

I'd really appreciate it.

p.s. When I click "help" in Visual Site Designer itself, it goes kablooey because I don't have Adobe Acrobat. I did TRY to figure this out myself before I came here to bug you guys...just so you know. :P

Remote folder might be
public_html

or

/public_html
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Thanks, Eric, but I just tried and that's not it. :(

Maybe I'm entering the right info but I need to be adjusting something else? Unchecking "passive mode" or putting something in the "port" box other than 21 (which is what it defaulted to)? I just don't know.

I don't know GoDaddy's FTP settings. What are you entering for sever?

You could log-in to your Go Daddy account and get the info so you'll know what you need to put in there.
For instance, with my Yahoo acct., the remote folder needs to be left blank; public_html will mess it up . Just check your acct. to see what your settings should be. ;)

This what I would do. I would open the program and call GoDaddy support. Tell support you are trying to access your web space using an FTP program and these are the fields you need to populate. If they can't help you, RUN.
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!

Hi Meredith,

Would you mind telling me with what 'parameters' you've been logging in with the demo version of VSD to your GoDaddy account? I understand you can't tell me this here, so tell me at jvhulst@xs4all.nl . I'm sure I can help you...

Hi Meredith,

And if this is the cause of your problem, then I advise you to go and leave GoDaddy. Did you register your domain name (i.e. www.shesaidpop.com ) with GoDaddy? You can always use the Coffeecup S-DRIVE service to upload your website -you get it for free with VSD- and then link the domain name to the Coffeecup S-Drive service. I hope this is not too technical for you....
