Hiya Jorge,

What version of the program are you running?
What exactly are you doing when you get the error?
Have you applied the Run as Administrator setting on the program?

I'm looking up some search results here in the forum on this issue to see if anyone else has solved it or not. If you could answer the above questions it would be helpful :)

*EDIT*
Here's a link that I just found that has something that worked for someone else. If you're running the most current version already, try the Administrator setting and the info in this post and let us know how it goes from there.

If you're using an old version, please update to the newest version (you can tell if it's newer by the date the update was done which is listed on the downloads page for the program). See if this fixes the issue here before trying the other things above.

Let us know however it turns out :)

Ok then the only thing I can think of is you should put a support ticket in to see if the team can help weed out what may be causing this issue. This could be anything from a bad install, to security software or settings getting in the way and they would be able to help you narrow all that down.

I do wish you luck on it and I'm sure they can help you get it running since there are many others on Windows 7 without any issues. :)

Here is some info on the topic from January with reply by Scott:

There has been an error.
Error running C:\Program Files (x86)\CoffeeCup Software\Direct
FTP/DirectFTP.exe : child killed: segmentation violation
The application will exit now

Anyone got any ideas on this one?

I wonder if yours is a 64-bit related issue.

Officially, all of our software is supported under Windows 7, XP, and Vista 32-bit. However, many of our users are able to use the software with Windows 64-bit running in Windows XP Compatibility Mode. Follow these steps to set this up:

1. Right-click the program .exe file and select Properties .
2. Click the Compatibility tab.
3. Select the Run this program in compatibility mode for checkbox and select Windows XP .
4. Click OK .

I had that problem and it was fixed by totally removing VSD running CC cleaner, rebooting and then downloading a fresh version of VSD and installing.
I know you believe you understand what you think I said...but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not exactly what I meant.

Well then you need to raise a Support Ticket and they will help you get it working.

That XP compatibility-mode hint in Sarah's post above ought to find its way to a new-user FAQ! I have run the CCHE in Win XP Pro 64-bit for a couple of years and just got accustomed to the occasional crash.

Yes, I looked just like that in 1962.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
