The previous version of VSD used to crash on me each time I tried to use keyboard shortcuts, the new version (6.06) does not. But try it with a mouse from the file menu to see if that helps.

I have VSD version 6.0 build 6.
I can only saved from the file menu with mouse "save" or "save as"
When i use the the floppy icoon or cntr-s, i receive a error message.

Which operating system are you using? Is it 32-bit or 64-bit? Provide as much information about your computer as possible, and we'll try to narrow down the cause.

Hoi Cesar,

I have Windows XP Pro Service pack 3
AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual Core processor 5600+ 2.89 Ghz 4.00 Gb memory.

When i have problem with save "cntr+S" or click on the floppy icoon, then i clean the windows register and problem is over. But, i have many times problem with save when i use VSD.

Hi Fons,

Ok, you have a 64-bit processor, but I still don't know if you're running a 64-bit operating system. Since you're using XP, it's unlikely, but I want to be sure before I dig too deep. Also, because you state that the software works fine after you clean the registry, it points to a configuration problem with your system. The only real way to track it down is to clean the registry one item at a time, and trying to save the VNU file. It's going to take a VERY long time to do it this way, but at least you'll know the root cause.

This is not quite the same problem, but it falls under the same catagory perhaps...

I was training a client of mine in the use of VSD last night. We created a test project with two pages, saved it it several times in the process of creating it, then closed and quit VSD.

Upon reopening the project, it had only half or so of the steps we had saved beyond. There were no duplicates of the project, so it wasn't us returning to the wrong file or anything...was somewhat embarrassing from an instructional point of view.

I couldn't answer my student's queries regarding this problem - I am wondering though if anyone else has had this happen? Since then my client has had it happen two more times.

Btw, we were running VSD on Vista. Thought maybe that might have been the problem... :)

I am having this same problem. Everything has been working fine, and suddenly an hour ago I get the error "The home page could not be saved." I don't know how to get around this. Any ideas?

Yes I've been getting this error message recently as well.

This was solved for me when I used File - Save As command instead of the "save" icon. Extra couple of steps, but at least it works.
