If I change an image, which I am forever doing, I believe I see "deleting unwanted files" during the upload process. Looking in the "files" folder I have hundred of old images locally and on the server. I know this isn't going to affect how VSD works...... just curious why old/unused images are not deleted and why it says what it does (when it isn't doing).
Just one example, I have 10 buttons on a page but there are over 250 of them in the "files" folder (old ones that have been tweaked)

I believe that each page gets its own copy of each image. 10 pages with 10 images = 100 images.
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!
Try saving your site under a new name to get rid of the bulk.

You can also go to edit option top left in VSD and select remove files from dropdown menue
There should be a list of unused files in there
I keep having this issue when changing one of my old flash forms, or photogalleries
so i delete everything and then install the new version using flash tool in VSD which then automatically uploads all the new files

Just done it. Strange how it has reduced the ammount. I would have thought all or nothing. I suppose I can delete the old name folder now ?
Had a look what Viv said first (was a bit wary of doing the above) but there is only slideshow folder and files showing and all are being used.
Steve, why not just hang on to that old folder as a sort of backup for a while till you create new backups. Gives you room to play with the newly saved setup

I zip my site up every now and then and ftp it up to my server.

yep same here Eric, I have a copy of all my sites I work on on my main drive, backup external drive and of course 1 zipped copy on the server itself. After accidentally deleting my own personal site some years ago I learned my lesson the hard way to back up often lol.

Yes, suppose I could. I just like to be neat.(trained by the wife) I don't want files in folders that are finished with.
Just checked. I have 10 pages with 10 button so I only expect to see 100 button images
In the "files" of the old site 10 mins ago there are 309 buttons. Changed the name of the site and is now 198.
I know.... 198 images, which probably will be 200 if I count again. There are 2 images to each button (silly me, unpressed and pressed) 10x20 = 200.
There are still a few other files from the old site though..... not to worry. Live and learn.
Off to bed Goodnight and thanks.
