Counsel needed: Recipe web page...
My wife is a great cook and constantly is asked for recipes, sometimes several times by the same person, when they lose the little cards. I'd like to put together a little web page that we can load the cards into, then let people browse through them and get their own.
Is this something I can do with VSD? I know a little HTML, and have a little database experience, but I'm not yet confident enough to tackle building this from scratch.
If not VSD, is there another tool/combination of tools I could use?
Thanks in advance

You could do this in either VSD or the HTML editor. The first thing I thought of reading the post was, you could create a link list with the recipes listed and when they click on the link a little recipe card pops up with the recipe on it.

Thats a great idea. Thanks very much. Now I just need to decide whether to buy the VSD as a standalone or as part of the Web pack.....
If you think you will use the others even in the near future, the packs are a great idea. Save a ton of money.

I think if you have a bit of HTML experience already you'd be best to buy the HTML Editor with or without the pack. Much more control over the aspects of your site. The great thing about either HTML Editor or VSD is that they come with some pretty cool themes already, and you can purchase very cheaply others in the CC store too.
The themes will give you a great start without having to start from scratch which makes the HTML Editor a bit easier to work with then as you don't have to put it all together yourself, just add your content and change what images you want different and your set to go.
There's a really cool and easy to use little script setup called Lightbox2 that would most likely do your recipe popups quite nicely if that's what you're wanting to do also. Google "lightbox2" and you'll find a few areas to download that at. If you'd like to see how it works, my homepage of my shop has it (not the Shop Home, but the main home at http://accessoriesoftheworld.com and you can put in more than one image or file which is a pretty cool feature. That might be cool for doing something like a dessert recipe that has more than one section to it like, cake, frosting, filling can all be separate little files within the same popup. Just some ideas
Good luck with it no matter which way you go and have fun

Jo Ann - thanks for the recommendation - great idea. I also took a look at your site - very nice way to do it. I'll see if I can figure it out.
Thanks Greg, it's all fun stuff for sure. If you need any assistance just hollar and we're around between myself and many others so don't be afraid to ask questions, that's what we're here for
Good Luck!
