I have a pdf file on my desktop. I would like to copy to my VSD page. Any ideas?

On a regular pdf file which you read with Acrobat Reader, it is normally only possible to make an snapshot image of sections of the file. Having said that, there are a number of applications available on the market (and some are Open Source) which will allow you to edit and modify pdf files. Some let you turn the file into a Word document which you could then copy and paste into the page. But perhaps you could just make the whole pdf downloadable from the web page without trying to insert the actual content?

Thanks Mr. Hyde for the response, Here are some other attempts we made. (Please keep in mind we are not experts in this field, just trying to create a web page for our church.) This News letter began in Ms publisher and I didn't have luck loading it to our VSD page. So I down loaded "Primopdf" to convert the news letter. It did a nice job converting but still not able transfer to our VSD page. We are in the beginning stage of building our page. We are not ready to upload and post until we work out and understand the ins and outs of building a page. That all being said could you advise on our problem? WS

You can also create a link to your PDF files. Click the link icon in the top menu bar, then link to document.
Just let users know the link will take them to a PDF.

Just a side note on this issue - If you need to create and modify .PDF files Google for an application called "PDFill",....it costs about $10.00 and if you have Adobe Reader installed will allow you to open, modify, edit, watermark, copywrite and print ANY .PDF file that isn't securely locked from edit.

The easiest and most utilitarian way to publish your .PDF to your website is to print a copy and scan it at 100DPI to a .JPG or .PNG for inclusion in your website . I have to do it all the time. Use PAINT.Net, available FREE to convert your images to any graphic file format you wish.

Wouldn't using a utility that can do a screen shot of an entire page work better (better looking that is) than scanning and losing some of the quality with the scanned image? I'm not home so unfortunately I don't recall the name of the Firefox Addon I'm using at home, but there is at least one that will do a full screenshot of an entire page. I'd give that a try before the print and scan method just as that will keep a lot more of your quality in the image I'm thinking? Just a suggestion of course

The original publisher file, doesn't MS Publisher have the ability to convert the contents to html these days? If so, ask the one who creates the file to make a copy for you in html. Then you can use the html tool in VSD to insert it.

The easiest way would be to get the file before it is converted to a .pdf file. Then it's just copy/paste. You can also just post the .pdf as a downloadable file, like here; http://www.stbonifaceschool.net/monthly_calendar.html
This is sent to me as a excel file. I print it, scan it as a .jpg (and compress it) to post on the site, then convert to a .pdf for download.
