Coffee Cup tools not launching...

Hi Everyone,

I've installed VSD sometime ago, and recently installed Photogallery and FormBuilder. When clicking the PG or FB button on VSD, I get the "Download Now" message instead of the app launch.

How do I let VSD know that I've installed the other apps?

Thanks,

The buttons within VSD are SUPPOSED to open those softwares for you. I suggest uninstalling and then reinstalling VSD. Have you tried that yet?

If you want to embed content from those apps, use the lightning bolt button button to create a box for the embed code generated by those softwares.

Hi Guys,
To embedd any of the Coffeecup programs which produce an xml file then Chad is correct, best to use the flash tool, You'll need to copy and paste the html code into VSD using the html tool as Firestarter ( for example ) does not make an xml file at this time.

The buttons to the left with are for purchasing those products or downloading the trials, these will not open the programs at this time, so there more of a selling thing. sorry but it has been suggested but VSD can't know where you installed those programs so doesn't look good lol

Those links for the applications in the left hand toolbar are hard-coded to look for the software in their default location. If you have installed them to some other path or if you are using a 64-bit system, they will not work. You will then have to load the program from the Start Menu.

Scott/Bruzer:

These links DO open the software for me, and I even have a 64-bit OS.

I think if Mike re-installs VSD it may find those softwares in their default location, as long as he installed them there.

Not dis-agreeing with anyone here, just posting about my own experience :D

Hi Everyone, Thanks for the suggestions. I tried reinstalling VSD and the button to launch Form Builder continued to give me the download message. So for good measure I reinstalled that application. Still no luck.

I think the problem is with the version of Vista that I'm using. Any 32 bit application gets put into the "Program Files (x86)" folder. I'm guessing that VSD isn't looking for the other applications there.

I had this problem with other applications before. When it happened, I tried changing the install directory to the plain "Program Files" directory, but the OS wouldn't let me get away with it. Oh well.

I can live with launching these other apps normally, but I thought I'd ask before giving up.

Thank you all for your help.

Sincerely,
Mike Goldweber

They need to have a pie graphic in with all the smilies so that when you're wrong about something (like I was here) you can have a piece of humble pie :D

You're correct Mike. Like Scott said, VSD expects the programs to be installed at their default locations, which is normally in the regular Program Files directory. Our software hasn't been designed for 64-bit operating systems yet, so it doesn't know to look in the (x86) folder instead.
