What I did was to instead of just saving the file, to use the "save as" option as Lonnie also suggested. Somehow this sorted it out.
I try not to fiddle around to much and have not had this problem since.

I have also had an occasional problem when i try to update my work and the program just sits there not allowing me to select anything or even to close the program then i get error trying to upload message. tried restarting computer but still has the same problem. anyone else seen this problem ?

Hello Phil,
Have you actually downloaded and installed all the updates or do you assume since its a new computer that it's updated?
Do you have any firewall or anti virus/spyware program running in the background? (Like Norton?)
What is the speed of your computers processor and how much ram is installed?
Have you contacted CC tech support. If the software is not letting you save no matter what, then this is no longer a matter of convenience, but necessity. I'm certain the developers would want to look into this, as its happening to more than just you and me. But first we have to rule out human error or issues with your own computer.

One of the things we've been discussing in here in the past week is the Windows Vista needing to be set to Administration Mode for all the programs. Coffeecup software is not an exception and if you know how to set your compatibility and "Run as Administrator" mode then go in and do that for all your Coffeecup software. Let us know once you've tried this, and also Chad's suggestions if you're still having problems

Great point! Forgot about that one.

hi guys, thanks for your posts ..
All the latest Visa Upgrades have been downloaded and installed.
Got rid of Nortons altogether, only have Avira
1G ram, Intel Core DUO P8600 2.40Ghz
Computer all set to Administrator
Contact CC support, reply was to check the obvious .. must be vista problem etc .. funny thing is had no problems at all with older version of the software.
Tried running under XP mode too,
About ready to forget about the whole coffee cup experience by uninstalling and getting someone to do my webpages for me., wasted endless hours with frustrating results ..
cheers

Shouldn't be any problem, Phil. I have had a friend from NZ correcting things on my pc, and that worked quite well. You have to catch them when they are awake, though

Ha en riktig god dag!

Hey Phil!
This is exactly why I asked about your hardware as part of the troubleshooting. 1 gig of ram for vista is VERY low. You're actually running your computer with the absolute minimum amount of ram that Windows requires. (see article at link below) But nobody runs Vista at the minimum. Vista needs a lot of ram, especially if you're doing anything with graphics. I have 4 gigs of ram on my system and it STILL lags sometimes.
When I set up computers for people I suggest that they get at LEAST 2 gigs of ram for Vista, but for optimum performance you'd want to have 3 or 4 gigs. Based on what you've written, it seems to me that you're ram MIGHT actually be what is causing the problem here.

I'm not sure what the hardware requirements are for VSD. I can't find that info anywhere on CC web site.
