I created a site in VSD yesterday, but when I try to open it today, the program says it cannot open the file. Any help?
Also, am I correct in thinking that the Jukebox only plays after it's uploaded to the server? Is there any way to play it in the browser preview?
Thanks.

I would suggest you open a support ticket for the first issue. As to JukeBox, that should play locally unless you have your browser set to block Active Content locally.

Thanks Scott. I looked through the help file on Chrome, but can't find where the active content settings are. I guess I'll keep looking.
I finally got my new site online. It's nothing fancy, but it works! Thanks to all the folks at Coffee Cup.

Hiya Robert,
Sweet and simple, and nicely setup. Here's a few things i noticed that need some attention. You may not be finished with it so bare with it if you just haven't gotten that far, just pointing out what I see:
Checked on Firefox 3.6 and IE8
<b>Home</b> page has an image for the email, but the link is outside the text area so makes it seem like it doesn't work. You need to arrange that link so it includes the entire area of the image including the text so that when you mouse over the text that says Email that it will also do the mouseover to give the email address etc.
Might I suggest you move the phone number and the email address to the Introduction page or create a Contact Us page. Or at the very least include them in the Intro page or Contact us page even if you do leave them on the home page.
<b>Introduction</b> page is missing the phone numbers that the last paragraph says are below. Also in that same paragraph, "by contract through their website", suggests there is a form somewhere or a scheduling or contracting setup which there isn't anything on the site that resembles anything this could pertain to.
You should name your pages to be what they are rather than page2.html type names. This will help you with search engine optimization later. An example would be to name the Page2.html page to intro.html or introduction.html and also refrain from putting capitalization in your page names as many servers are Caps sensative. People will tend to type in page rather than Page and if your server is caps sensative they won't get to your site page.
That's most of what I saw, little things that mean a lot in the end hehe. Looks great otherwise though, enjoy and good luck with it, nice music too

Jo Ann,
Thanks a million for the critique! You are right on all counts. I will make the changes today.
I have another question though - after I make the changes, do I have to delete all of the old files from the server before uploading the new files, or will VSD just overwrite the old files?
Thanks again.

Hiya Robert,
VSD should overwrite the files that are already uploaded and the new ones should then be in place. If you're wanting to keep a copy of the current version before hand you can always make a copy of your .vnu file and put it in a backup folder on your computer as well if that's what you're worried about. If you just wanted to make sure that you didn't have to worry about deleting and uploading then you're all set, VSD should do all the work for you

An idea: whenever I'm working in a program like VSD I include the date in the name of the file, and also add "_01" to the end of the day's first one. Every time I make a major change, I add to the suffix (_02, _03 and so on) for that day before I save it so I always have the old version still there in case something went wrong. If I work on it the next day or later, first thing is to change to the current date and save again.
The files can pile up quickly, but the peace of mind knowing you can always revert to the last good version is priceless, and blank DVDs are cheap when you're ready to archive all your old work and clean it off the hard drive.

Thanks for the tips. I've been trying to upload the new version ALL DAY yesterday, but no luck! I know I'm doing something wrong, but can't understand what. I've uploaded using VSD's FTP and Filezilla, and I'm pretty sure all the files are on the server, but they are not displaying.
I will keep trying.

If you are sure they are on the server but not displaying then chances are they are in the wrong folder.
I had a similar problem and discovered that somehow a duplicate folder with the same name had been created and my files were going there instead of the original folder.
I know you believe you understand what you think I said...but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not exactly what I meant.
