I used to have a (free) version of Visual Site Designer and to upload it to my server I first had to export it to a folder and then upload it using Fillzilla. I now have Version 7 of VSD -- but there it has no ability to Export. Any ideas?

VSD has never had an export function Richard. Just save your website in VSD and everything is automatically placed in the _website folder.

But you don't need to use Filezilla. You can upload to your website directly with VSD!

It was a very old version of VSD and there was an export function under the File menu. My server is a community net and I think it didn't recognize the file type.

Regardless -- things have changed over the years and, you're right, I can upload, or publish, directly from the VSD program now. However, it's only partially successful. Most of the jpgs didn't
upload. I've tried a few times. Maybe I'll give it a rest and see if it works later....

It sounds like your files have gone out of sync. Here is what I would like you to do.

1. Go to the Publish Menu and select FTP Account Settings and select your FTP Account.

2. Verify that all information is correct and the Remote Folder path is not empty. Typically you would enter in a / or /public_html here but you need to confirm with your hosting provider what the correct path is. IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT THIS PATH IS CORRECT.

3. Go to the Publish Menu and select Choose a Publishing Destination and select your FTP Account and then click Save.

4. Finally, go to the Publish Menu and select Re-Sync Website.

With any luck, everything should be back to normal.

Hi Scott. Everything seems to be connecting okay, but I'm only getting a partially successful upload. it gets to a point when both publishing and syncing and I get the error message. Weird.
