Hello people.
:)
I haven't been on the forum in a few days because disaster struck, my hard drive crashed on a brand new computer and it was a 100% data loss and my backup was not up to date. First time I've ever had a hard drive crash. Timing was not good. I am back and running, getting all my content organized and starting again. At least I'm starting with a very good understanding of the VSD platform and the hell I was in is cooling down. Here is my question to see if this is possible. I been trying to upload VSD to a flash drive so I can install it on a desktop with a huge beautiful screen and work from this computer instead of the small screen laptop. This desktop does not have internet access. Is it possible to upload VSD onto a flash drive then install it on this desktop computer or is this a NO! NO! and not possible. Anyone who has info on this, Scott?, please let me know.

Thank you in advance.:)

Hiya Daniel,

I put your question here as you posted it in the Tips & Tricks thread.

As for your question, you are certainly able to copy the program installer onto a flash drive to put it on your other computer. You can install CC software on up to 3 computers for your own use so go for it. You may have difficulties with the other computer not being online if you include any components or elements in your sites that need to be pulled from anywhere else, and previewing on browsers may not function properly, but you're quite able to do install it elsewhere and a flash drive is probably the best way to transfer it.

Make sure to transfer your VSD site files if you have a site already started and be sure to keep them updated on both computers as you work so you don't mess it up on one or the other. Other than that, have fun with it :)

Jo Ann will know for sure if i am wrong, but i think you can also actually run the program on an external usb hard drive, with a folder including all the images etc .

Then take the hard drive from one pc to the other so your actually always working on the same files.

An old laptop hardrive can be used to do it , or a new external harddrive which are not expensive these days.
Started using CC VSD in January 2009, I don't do HTML code, Sales from CC site exceeding expectations taken me out of semi-retirement

Well I wouldn't do it that way really as it's definitely an installed program. What I would do though is install the program on the desktop computer, and just keep the actual project files for your site on the Flash Drive. That way it's always the same no matter what computer you work on.
