Big Trouble Uploading in VSD - Post...

Hi all,

My website: http://www.pvntrak.org

I am using VSD and Photo Gallery. My site performs well when previewing in VSD or Photo Gallery. My issue occurs when I try to upload my site using VSD. I get a ton of error messages similar to the following: "The file filename.ext was not found. Do you want to continue uploading anyway?" To upload my site, I must click on the "Yes" button each time I received this message. It is a bit cumbersome because there are approximately 200 files that cannot be found. All the unfound files are photos and other Photo Gallery-related files which I have deleted from my computer.

Does anybody know how I can eliminate these messages? For some reason, everytime I use VSD, the program appears to add folders and files that I am no longer using to a temporary folder on my computer. The folder is called "vsd_tmpdir" and is located in the following path: C:\Documents and Settings\owner\Local Settings\Temp

I have deleted all folders and files in this folder; however, every time I use VSD, the temporary folders and files keep coming back like a bad penny. To my knowledge, there are no such folders or files on my computer; but, they keep showing up, and I think that is why I am getting the file-not-foud messages. Of course, I could be wrong, but it seems that VSD is re-creating these folders and files from some source, but I don't know where.

At least, the website, previews in VSD, and previews in Photo Gallery are working OK, but it is troublesome to have to close about 200 dialogue boxes with file-not-found messages every time I upload.

Thanks, in advance, for any help or suggestions you may have,

John H.

Could there still be links to those files in your code?
I know you believe you understand what you think I said...but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not exactly what I meant.

I have checked the code in two locations:
    1. The HTML object on the Photos web page has no references to files.
    2. The Photo Gallery XML file has links to photo files, but not the photo files that cannot be found.

Is there code someplace else that I should review?

Hi John,
If you go to settings then to remove file, just select the images named in the error or select "check all" then uncheck the files you wish to keep you will stop those pesty errors. Unfortunately I believe this is the only way or it will continue to load those files to your temp folder. the good news is you'll be done by friday the bad news is you'll miss lunch! kidding.:)

Bruzer, you've got it! I am in the process of removing the files. Thanks for the excellent advice.

I'm a bit overweight, anyway, so it won't hurt me too much to spend some time removing the unwanted files and missing a meal or two.

Thanks,
John H.
