I am having an issue w/ my background not showing up in browser preview in VSD.
Under page properties my screen resolution is 960x 768. Center design is checked. Solid color background is selected (dark gray color selected).
Under Settings>Background Fill Properties, "Continue the page background fill" is selected.
When I preview in IE8 or Chrome and enlarge the browser window no background fill is shown at all, just white around my design.
If instead I "select a color" under Settings>Background fill properties (same dark gray color) the background gray will show up when previewed in either browser but the fill will only extend to the edges of the 960x768 area and does not fill the enlarged browser window.

Is this just an issue when previewing? or am I missing something? thanks.

The colour should display in preview too. It must be something you haven't done.
With your first settings I get the background colour extended wall-to-wall when viewed with FireFox and Chrome.
With your second settings I got exactly the same when selecting the same colour. I tried selecting a different colour, and no problems there either.
Ha en riktig god dag!

I'm stumped, too. My backgrounds work just fine.
I don't know if this matters, but under Standard Settings for New Pages – do you have "apply to all pages" checked? Did you save before previewing?

A link to your page if you could publish it would make a huge difference. You might have a script or extra div tag hanging out causing the issue. Any custom code added to your page that might be overriding the built in CSS properties?
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Got it!
Must have been something in the code for my flash navbar. Deleted that and the backgrounds worked like a charm. Thanks for the quick responses.
