Arranging pictures - Post ID 121958
Wondering if there is a way in VSD to place one picture in front of another picture with the bottom picture partially showing and then when you click on that one it comes to the front and then the same with the other picture? Thanks for any insight into this. Have no knowledge of code, so am trying to do this with VSD. Thanks.
Have you tried using the mouse-over tool? I've never made a mouse-over, so I don't know if it will let you off set the pics, or if they have to be lined up.
If that won't do it, maybe someone else might know how to do this with some css or javascript - maybe a code snippet that could be placed with the html tool?
Edit - I just googled off-set mouseover, and look what popped up:

Thank you Paintbrush, I'll give it a try. One never knows until they try. Thanks for your help.
Hi Sarah,
what you want to achieve can't be done in VSD. If you use the mouse-over tool, you can offset the mouse over image from the original one, but the original one and the mouse-over picture aren't shown together, the mouse-over one only shows when you hover over the 'front' image. What is the reason why you want to use this effect?

Hi John, Thanks for your input. Well, I'm designing a new website and I thought about putting this effect on the intro page, just as a way of showing more pictures, making them look like photos that had been developed and printed on 4x6 paper, you know what I mean? and then clicking to place them in front of each other for effect. Then I was going to use them as links to different pages. Looks like I'll need to think of a different method, maybe putting them close together, or slightly on top of each other and making the links like that. Always wondering if I can learn something new. Thanks again.
Hi Sarah,
I think I understand what you try to achieve, but it can't be done, at least not in VSD. There are possibilities using Flash that come near to what you want, like using a carrousel of pictures that turns around with mouse movements while each picture in the carrousel, after clicking, opens another page/action. Did you ever see this?

Here's a Jalbum photo gallery that might be what you're after. I don't know if it's possible to make the photo captions links, though. I have used other Jalbums in VSD sites with good results.

Thank you John and Paintbrush, Yes, John I have seen the Carousel version and it is quite nice and fun. Have never tried using it though. Thanks for the idea. Paintbrush, I checked out the site and there seems to be so many variables. What fun. I will probably try several of them. thank you for the address of the site. Well, guess I have a lot of work to do to get the site going. Thanks again.
