Are Responsive Themes coming to VSD?
Are Responsive Themes coming to VSD?
Responsive themes seem to be the latest thing. I see them available for HTML Editor and for Web Form Builder. But are they going to be available for VSD soon?

If you look at the code produced by VSD it is all absolute positioning so I would say it could be a while before that comes into being. Having said that I really love using this tool and next year I plan to have a go at conversion There will be a downer it will be a one way procedure.
If you need a responsive site then the Editor is really the only way to go. This is only hobby, fun and games for me so I do not have any actual reason. It was only recently I handed in my brick for a basic Nokia. Well no I kept the brick it is one of a kind now. Guess what I slip the Sim (Original 10 year old) in and it works. so I have no way for real to test a responsive site other than adjust the browser. VSD is so fast to create sites I would make sets of pages to suit different monitors. No compromise then as I see in responsive sites.
There is a lady floating around the forum who is our resident Responsive expert, maybe she will respond.

Just in case you mean me, I'm no expert – just a fearless experimenter
There are a few things you can do with VSD, though. If you have a pretty basic site...
Start with a standard page size width. 980px is a good size to work with. Now plan your layout with a left-side column that's about 300px wide. Put your logo, site name, a vertical oriented menu and your most important info within that space. This will display well on small devices & phones in portrait mode.
Remember to keep buttons and links large enough to be clicked on touch screens, and leave some space around them so users won't have trouble clicking them.
Go easy on the graphics and special effects (and no Flash). Avoid large photos and make sure your images are optimized for the web. Clean and simple is better for most devices, and you don't want your site to take too long to load on bandwith-sucking devices. If you have fairly long pages, include "back to top" links near the bottom and anchor links for various sections to cut down on the scrolling.
Be aware that some devices will turn phone numbers into links, so make sure numbers won't 'disappear' if they get changed to your chosen link color.
If you have hundreds of pages or lots of lengthy articles, a separate phone site might be in order. But give phone users a link to the full site so they can choose the option they prefer.
That's all I can think of right now.

I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by. (Douglas Adams)
