I've just built my second site using visualsite designer....which as a pretty techphobic blacksmith I'm quite proud of....but I'm trying to add google analytics to monitor the new site, and am getting in trouble!

I may not be on the up to datest version of c.c. becuse somewhere here it says you can go to edit-insert analytics code, paste code and hey presto...but I don't have that option.

I follow the google/coffeecup instructions to paste the code in using html tool, the page looks fine in "preview", but when I upload and view it on the web, all the text has moved to one side out of line with the pictures.

Sorry if I'm being very stupid, (html is a mystery to me, which is why I like visualsitedesigner!) but anyone know what I should do to fix this ?

O.k.
Had a horrible feeling I'd be back, needier than ever!
Updated to v.7.
Sure enough, was able to insert analytics from the edit menu, and all seemed to go well....
but now for some reason although the homepage looks fine, all the other pages of the site have changed....the (black) background has shrunk leaving white gaps either side with text falling off the right hand side.
Don't know if this is a result of update or inserting google html, or how to fix it.....:(

Here is what you need to do:

1. Go to the Publish Menu and select FTP Account Settings and select your FTP Account.

2. Verify that all information is correct and the Remote Folder path is not empty. Typically you would enter in a / or /public_html here but you need to confirm with your hosting provider what the correct path is. IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT THIS PATH IS CORRECT.

3. Go to the Publish Menu and select Choose a Publishing Destination and select your FTP Account and then click Save.

4. Finally, go to the Publish Menu and select Re-Sync Website.

With any luck, everything should be back to normal.

SEE SCOTTS MESSAGE BELOW FIRST ::

Icase there are some issues after doing as Scott suggested try the following, it worked for me when i upgraded BUT DO WHAT SCOTT SAYS BELOW FIRST he was typing at same time as me,, and he's the expert :)

Try settings > background fill properties and change colour to black

I think that might help a little

Also check to see if you text is ending on the correct words at the end of each line of text

If not go back and at the end of each line hit enter key to force the beginning of the next line.

you may then possibly need to remove a space from the beginning of the next line.

If you are doing it manually, you need to delete 100% of your website off your server and then FTP the files back up.
