alt attribute for images? - Post ID...
I'm setting up a website for my husband's photography and because of the nature of the site almost everything on it is photos. Google's tips on setting up a website suggest using alt attributes for the images posted in case they don't display and for SEO. Is it possible to do this in Visual Site Designer? I can't find any way to insert the attribute. I don't think the mouseover option is quite what I'm looking for, but am not sure. Would I have to download the HTML editor to do this? Thanks for any help, Linda
After you place the photo, and with it selected, simply type in the ALT info into the Object Properties window (which may or may not be shown depending on how you've set up your VSD). Right clicking the photo, and selecting "show properties window"/Object Properties window will make it appear.
Enter the ALT info into that location for each photo (selecting each one as you go) and you should be good to go.
* Disclaimer - I 'rarely' use the VSD so if this isn't the quickest/easiest way, or is completely WRONG, I do apologize in advance

Great, it worked. I was able to type it in, anyway. I would like to check to see if it appears in the HTML though.
I think I will invest in the HTML editor and run my website into it. I read on another post that that was possible. I would like to learn HTML and think that this would be an excellent opportunity. I started trying to learn with a book, but got bored with it. Hands on works best for me, but I do understand some of it from what I took in from the book.
Thank you very much Phil.

Glad it seemed to work for you... Hopefully when you test the site you will see it in the HTML. I'm the same as you, I HAVE to be doing what they are telling me, or it just won't sink in. Heck, even then it takes several times to catch one of those blank memory receptors (that's still functioning), I swear I need an upgrade
