all looks great in VSD - but added...
I'm new to VSD and have been able to create the index page for my site. While everything is spaced as I want it to be seen in VSD, when I preview it in IE or Firefox, there are great gaps added between text boxes and image lines. I have tried moving things around until it looks like there is a scant space in VSD... but doesn't appear the same in the browsers. Help?

When typing text into a text box hit the return key at the end of each line of text, forcing it onto the next line, and if you edit later go back and repeat on all the lines of text
Oh and make sure you end a text box without a space below the last line of text

Thanks for the suggestions, however, each text box does not have a space after the last line of text. I note that Viv recommended using hard returns (enter) at the end of each line of text, but that Rolly's link recommended against doing this. There is not an overlap between the text blocks and the images. While all looks fine in VSD, in both IE (9) and Firefox (7), additional space is added in several areas - particularly at the bottom - which distorts what I want to be seen. The page properties are 960 x 1800. I tried shortening the length but this did not have any impact. Also, in both IE & Firefox, everything is to the far left rather than centered. Thanks for your kindness in offering help.
Try open the text box over again select it all or highlight it all and select a smaller size of font. Some times the font you selected renders larger on the live browser pg than it does on your monitor , so changing to a smaller font size many times will fix the overlapping or miss rendering problems and it is an easy fix to change the font size.

Yes the browser sets the elements differently , so i keep previewing until im satisfied with what im looking at the browser
Try Greg's suggestion. Could you share a link so we can see the issue.

Is this possible to do from my hard drive as it hasn't been uploaded anywhere yet?
Also, I'll try resizing the font. The problem is most noticeable toward the bottom of the page when the font is substantially smaller -- with the the general info that no one reads. I'll try all f this this when I'm home.

When I want to show visual examples of my screen shots I take a screen shot and upload it to my photo-bucket account and then put up a link here to the screen shot on photo bucket. Can write a little description of the problem and have the visual example with the provided screen shot Makes it easier for people to know exactly what is being discussed
Here is an example of one of my uploaded screen shots from the past. Copy the url of the pg you want to link to and paste it here in the message
http://s260.photobucket.com/albums/ii13 … rnshot.jpg
Then it is a link to your visual example

I entered some swf file slide shows onto my commercial pg of my site I copied some html code of the link from one of my old site pgs and added in as an html snippet then had to drag it around and check the preview until it was rendering in the correct place Here is the screen shot of the VSD pg of this

Here is the screen shot of the preview example of the pg made from the VSD
http://s260.photobucket.com/albums/ii13 … rnshot.jpg
Then if you go to this last link to the actual site when I uploaded the pg html code from the CC FTP I edited the code and decreased the size of the font there so it is rendering a little smaller on the site than it does on the preview

Anyway that is some visual example of working through a placement and sizing of text
